  • To me the below implies the first call will be on Monday 6th September just after 3PM. The following calls will be daily from Tuesday 7th September through to Friday 10th September, again after 3PM.

ITEM 4: COMPETITION START DATE, END DATE AND ENTRY PERIODS

Start Date: Tuesday 31 August 2021 at 6:00am

End Date: Friday 10 September 2021 at 3:00pm

The first Entry Period will open on Tuesday 31 August 2021 at 6:00am, and close on Monday 6 September 2021 at 3:00pm.

Following this first Entry Period, entries to the Competition will open and close as follows (each individually an “Entry Period”, together the “Entry Periods”):

Tuesday: opens at 3:10pm on Monday, closes at 3:00pm on Tuesday

Wednesday: opens at 3:10pm on Tuesday, closes at 3:00pm on Wednesday

Thursday: opens at 3:10pm on Wednesday, closes at 3:00pm on Thursday

Friday: opens at 3:10pm on Thursday, closes at 3:00pm on Friday

  • Would somebody be able to clarify what time they are likely to call please?

I always assumed - and have read on a previous cash register post - that they made the call between 3:30pm and 3:40pm and that the call was made live on air?

I have since read that they actually call between 3:00pm and 3:10pm?

    Thanks in advance!

That's exactly what it is, they really should say starts Monday 06th, but they decided to open entries up from Tuesday 31st Aug, to allow you all, when prompted by the daily text, to enter up to your 20! times. I also think as well as the other dodgy legal issues, this is encouraging gambling and spending money if people think it's daily, but all this week are just entering the same comp for Monday.

e.g. every day this week you get a text at 10am to say Win 50k, you text back, then get the default "enter again and we'll give you two more". People think they're getting two paid and one free entry for each draw, but by the time lines close Monday they've actually entered 15 times (assuming 3x weekday) into one draw when they thought they were entering five different times. - previously the six entry limit would have stopped you after the second day, and people realise what's happening

The entries close at 3PM and I believe they call usually between 3 and 10 past. Probably the call starts from after 15:01 or so, to ensure all entries up to 3PM are included. It is usually pre-recorded and not played live, at least according to previous winners. The winning call is played at different times across all stations involved. To be on the safe side, I have a phone alarm for 3PM and I keep my eye on my phone for ten minutes. Then, I keep my phone by my side but on loud until around 4pm.

    Thanks for the clarification 🙂.

Due to work commitments and only getting limited breaks, I was actually taking a break at 3:30pm, immediately turning my phone on and then having it close by until 3:45pm! I have been doing this for around a year!

    How foolish of me!!

Jazmeen, I agree with you, if Comp had started 6am Monday 6th then it would not have confused me!  Luckily comping rich post helped me.
On another note, after following comping rich instructions for auto call, I set my iPhone to 0secs and this morning I received a no caller ID. I was just away from my phone and it was locked. I asked the lady that called, and she said it rang for one ring and picked up and she rang me from a landline.

    I have just learned something.

On an iPhone you can set your phone to automatically answer a call, this is an accessibility feature if you struggle with using a touch screen.

To turn on auto answer on an iPhone go to:-
Settings > General > Accessibility > Call Audio Routing

You will have a number of options, in my case Automatic, Bluetooth Headset and Speaker. Underneath these options is Auto-Answer Calls, click on that and then you can turn auto answer on or off, when you turn this on it will set a default time of 3 seconds for when the phone will answer. You could reduce this down to 0 seconds or even 1 if you wished.

I believe you can also set up auto answer with an android phone but not sure how to do this.
Thanks. Very helpful. It took less than a second to connect, heard only one ring not even a ring ring.

    Hi all,

I tried the auto answer thing and set it to 0 secs and speaker phone.  My hubby called me and it did answer but it kept getting cut off straight away and he couldn't hear anything when I tried to speak to him.  Tried it more than once and I think the one time it went straight to voicemail .  I've turned it off now. Not sure if I was doing something wrong?
