Re: jobs is the private parking industry really that good for the workers there? Its low paid (unless a boss), aggressive figures chasing (from the top down), inciting/ bullying staff to break the law (the Ghost ticketing, taking away their autonomy on discretion, image doctoring, double dipping, withholding exhonorating evidence etc) plus it's dangerous for the patrol parking attendants often lone working. I can't imagine it's a job anyone chooses to do unless it's their own operation.Umkomaas said:This unprecedented blow to the sector is projected to see 3,000 jobs lost.Plenty of job opportunities post-Brexit - the daily news is full of the current labour market employee shortages. It will give PPC redundant workers the opportunity to find jobs useful to UK Plc and to get off the minimum wage bottom rung of the pay ladder.
There are skill shortages in the logistics, retail, service, hospitality and food supply business which have to be better.
I believe P.E is owned by Crapita - who I briefly worked for in another area of their businesses abd they were an awful company to work for.

Everything you say is right except Crapita which I believe has nothing to do with PE now95Rollers said:

PE used Crapita for debt collection and now as seen on here, they are forced to use low grade companies.
The BPA said that many companies will go bust, what a wheeze, just because PE is probably the biggest is no protection for them.
The BPA claim that 3000 jobs are stake ? I'm sure the government would be happy to these people working in an honest industry .....
If an airline pilot can turn to driving then a parking warden or office staff can turn their hand to something else.

The BPA are in denial and fail to understand that they are pointless and not required

Totally. The BPA is such a pointless entity. They have a Code of Practice which is widely ignored, they do not take complaints seriously, do not scrutinise members or Regulate nor independent as it has been a case of the BPA board owning PPCs and Debt chasing companies.
I never realised what the link between Crapita and PE actually was. But I stand by the statement that they are an awful company to be employed by. It is a figures led environment, but at the same all about cutting costs, saving money, watering things down at the extent of the low level employees. I learnt this very quickly and coasted there for a few months as a stop gap whilst studying. They used me and I used them. But sadly many colleagues didn't have the luxury of being in my shoes.6 -
PE used Crapita for debt collection and now as seen on here, they are forced to use low grade companies. The debt collection arm utilised by ParkingEye was Equita. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Can't remember, what happened ?1 -
I was going to find the tiniest violin I have to play for the BPA, but I realised I lost it down my ear after playing it for the student accommodation landlords in Coventry when they started moaning about the new rules for council tax on unoccupied units.4

If you want to fully experience where the BPA and private parking have lead us have a look at the parking policy for Vangarde Retail Park in York and tell me whether you would be encouraged to visit after reading the 'rules'.
It could only have been designed by Committee.
A combination of parking for a retail park, a leisure complex operated by a private operator.A park and ride owned and operated by the Local Council so falling under penalty charges legislation.

When on site there are also other smaller car parks with apparently no management.
The fun really starts when you attend a game (football and rugby league) at the York community stadium as a whole new set of rules come into play."There must be a simpler way" comes into mind.1 -
