Honestly the worst part of it is stressing over what you can't control.
And I know we should all learn to accept what we can't control etc.... But when the impact is so huge on your life, it is hard not to.0 -
Try divorcing and having to sell the house and move into rental with a two year old and two cats.
That caused a few sleepless nights (long time ago now 😂)

Yes! A combination of anxiety about the move, not eating well as I've mentally checked out of my old kitchen and CBA to cook properly, and lots of changes at work meaning I'm ferrying my laptop etc to different sites every day on public transport. It's draining.0

Moving house is super stressful.
That's why first I bought my current house and then sold the old one, leaving 4-5 month of overlap so that I could move a bit at the time, whenever I felt like it or had time.0 -
same here. I was warned it would be extremely stressful, but it's not. in fact, I'm starting to think my solicitor is a star, she's always a step ahead and things are progressing extremely quickly. but then you read a story on the bank changing their mind last minute and boom, you lose nearly £50k in a split second...
can't wait to move in and get everything set up/confirmed, I'll definitely need to sleep a few days to recover from it.

Exhausted! I had to take a big deep breath and a large step back as it is overwhelming at times. I really struggle with not having control, and this is a situation where there is no control whatsoever! I really hope the system of buying and selling finally gets reformed, as the whole process seems totally bonkers and defies logic a lot of the time. I am thanking my lucky stars that both my EA and Solicitor have been fantastic.
The lack of a fairly firm exchange / completion date in itself is a challenge, as there is so much to be done in a relatively short space of time, and the lack of a clear end point means that you are either surrounded by mess and boxes for months (us, as we had a lot of clearing out and decluttering to do) or it is a crazy rush to fit everything into a few days! It cant happen soon enough now.
Will definitely be in need of a rest when this is all over.

I think the worst part is being stuck in limbo.
I know I'm moving and it feels simultaneously happening soon and far away yet. I want to pack but there's no point packing so early. I want to buy furniture but it doesn't make sense yet. I can't really make many plans because I can't guarantee where I'll be living12/03/21 - House put up for sale

I'm totally with you on this one so so tired... Breakdown of a long term relationship at the start of the year, he kept the house (transfer of equity to buy me out) and been staying with family since... Took ages for something to come onto the market that was right for me... Now going through all of the conveyancing... Can't wait for it finally to be over so that I can start to rebuild my life.
I feel like I've been in limbo somewhere between my old and new lives for most of this year3 -
And add in the knotty feel in the stomach.
I'm on the other end to most as I'm selling my late Mum's flat. It has been a flurry of activity, then nothing, then first buyers had to drop out, more viewings, new buyers. Nothing. Nothing. It's finally empty apart from the cooker, washing machine, lawnmower and wheelbarrow. The last two are not actually in the flat! We're waiting to see if the buyers want them or we need to get rid = another job.
It's 26 years since we last sold and lots has changed. Most importantly, the need for completion certificates! The flat was never my home, so I have a slight detachment but it's been a challenge that's not over yet. Only a few more weeks, I hope, as it's just FTBs and Me.1
