I have exactly the same problem, I am considering taking it back tomorrow and getting a different dress. I can't even blame time of the month I just ate too many hotel dinners and had too many glasses of wine recently....not sure there is a quick fix but if you find one please share.

  • When you are due your period it is quite normal to feel bloated !.
Its only Monday and by friday you will be right as rain, soon as you come on your period.

Periods and hormones can make us emotional and over react more than normal.

Like you said the dress looked lovaly last friday.

Dont let your period /hormones rule your life and upset your evening out>

If you are particularly woried go to Ethel Austin and get a pantie girdle or hold you in pants.

M and S do a terrific range but are much more expensive.

Please dont let this ruin your night just be yourself and aim to have fun.

How soon are you due on and how long do you stay bloated for? If its past friday, I'd say take the dress back and get a larger size if you can. DPs have nice stuff for us tall ladies. I have the same problem at that time of the month as well and its really annoying. I usually end up looking about 5 months pregnant!!

  • I bought a dress a size too big as it was and it was a designer one from a boutique. Another size up would be too large, this dress was altered to fit me!!

Oops! But as another poster pointed out, theres still plenty of time to go until Friday. Buy the suck em in knickers and try and avoid too much starchy foods as that can make it worse.

Take it to a decent underwear shop and they should be able to find you a nice basque or something to hold you in. I did that with my wedding dress, and wore the basque from lunchtime till the early hours of the morning, including eating a meal in it, and it was really comfortable.

I also went in the hotel sauna on the morning of the wedding, and I'm sure that slimmed another couple of pounds off me!
Here I go again on my own....
  • I also feel bloated around my period.

Definitely as others have advised, pulling in knickers are great, i bought some in primark last week they were only £2! There were other ones there too.

You should be fine by friday. Have a great night.

is the bloated feeling water retention? if so they do a herbal product call aquaban BUT it is only for water retention during your period and is NOT a slimming product.
