  • Hiya, read your whole diary over the last week- you've done amazing and well on track for April 23 :) I've just tried to join Prolific due to your diary...

I'm a lurker, almost conquered my debt but just about to take on loads more with a lot of uncertainty! Trying to subscribe to your diary so I can follow, but really enjoy your writing and how you're smashing this- well done.

Afternoon all and a late update from me today!

Thanks @Getting_better for reading my diary its sure been a long one!  Thanks so much for your kind words and I would love to have you coming along on the final leg of my financial journey!  Dont be a lurker, I cant recommend enough what having your own diary does for you, it keeps you accountable and also please try joining some of the challenges on the forum, there are quite a few and the support is fantastic.  I run the Debt Free By Xmas 2023 thread so if you have a target in mind you would like gone before Christmas then do please join.

So sent a few bits today to debt and Saving.  Cashed out prolific at £8.35 and split £8 to Lloyds CC and 35p to SPC, plus I also received a cash out from Topcashback of £6.87 and sent a further £6 to Lloyds CC and 87p to my SPC.

I calculate my final payment in April has come down from £256 to £223 just from the extra payments im sending to debt so all looking positive! 95 days to financial freedom :relieved:

    Balance on CC's now £2388

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Ah almost forgot, although its my cash budget reset today I actually forgot to budget some extra cash from today to Tuesday (day before payday)....Doh!!

So I have £10 in Fuel left which OH took today to use in his car and £24.81 that was left from last weeks Grocery.  I dont think we need much more food wise until after payday so that left over cash will likely last for anything we do need.  I just dont have this extra cash to add to my EF2 or Penny Challenge but at least I have this spare to use.

    Thanks

Hello.. Yes it definitely has felt like a huge weight has been lifted finally being debt free! I have been focussing on trying to put all the money I used to put to debt into savings so that I never have to resort to credit again. It definitely feels nice seeing the numbers in the savings accounts going up.

Have you started to think about your plans for when you are debt free?

Morning All and its a snowy/sunny day here!

Just counting the days now to payday on Wednesday and that should include my 5% pay rise too.  Sent £70 to Virgin CC today following receipt of BG payment of £67 from Government help and I decided to round this up to £70.  Having now paid that I should have a final payment of around £153 in April which has come down from £256, so all these payments will improve the last payment overall, note to self - Keep at it!!

Prolific is a little sparse on the survey front again, did have one today but I had issues and it wasnt a bad paying one either at £2 but hey ho it is what it is, will keep trying.

I still have the £24.81 left in Grocery cash envelope after not needing anything at the weekend, that only needs to last me to end of tomorrow so im still hoping I can send most of that to EF and Penny Challenge for the change.

    92 days to financial Freedom!

    Thats about all for now.
