Lots of plans - especially planning out the savings goals! I spent ages doing that before we got shot of the mortgage - it always seemed like fantasy sums as for so long we'd been stashing everything we could away against clearing that!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

It's great you have the savings goals Shell, I think when we are paying off debts we get so wrapped up in planning and budgeting that it's a hard habit to break so I will also be plugging the savings once I've cleared my last card. It will take a while but I will get there, just as I have with the debts. I'm sure you'll be the same x

Morning All
Not alot going on since I made the overpayments to CC when I was paid on 18th, but will have some more movement early next week and then week after. Another £300 split £69 to Sainsburys CC and snowballed payment since paying off Virgin CC of £231 to Lloyds CC. I have been making some small PAD's when I can, although Im so tempted to make more, I dont want to leave myself short, im impatient like that!
Im on half day today so already have a load of washing on, Grocery shopping this afternoon, tidy up of house too. Tomorrow my sister and BIL are coming over to stay as we are going to talk about summer hols and hopefully book something too with deposits. It will be a Motorhome Holiday again in the UK although Im longing to return to France, but think this will be next year now. We were thinking of 2 days in Cambridge then onto Brighton, Bournemouth, Poole, Weston Super Mare and Stratford Upon Avon coming back up North then home. We will have pretty much done the UK by then other than Wales.
Prolific slow again, have £3 cleared and £5.56 pending, so would like that to be at least cash out level of minimum £5 so I can make a further payment to debt. Me and other half were discussing money last night and we so cant wait to be able to look forward once the debt is cleared. Its so tempting now the level is low to start the plans we want, but Im determined to get rid of the debt first. Our Mortgage deal is up in June I think so rather than fix for 5 years I think we will try 12 months hoping the rates come down.
Anyway thats about all for now. Have a great day!

Holiday planning is so exciting:) we are hoping to book something for later in the year but not sure where yet as we want to try further afield. It will at least give you something to look forward to
I agree about Prolific, I can't seem to catch any before they are filled at the moment. Enjoy your half day!

Hi all and I cant believe Monday has come around so quickly!
Had a good weekend with my Sister and BIL stopping over on Saturday night. We had a Chinese takeaway, a few G&T's and Beer for the boys! Our summer holiday is all booked with deposits and we are off to Cambridge, Brighton, Bournemouth/Poole, Weymouth and then Stratford Upon Avon on the way back up North. We discussed next year in 2024 we will likely return to our abroad holidays in the motorhome. 2 weeks holiday will be around £1000 including diesel plus spending so its considerably cheaper than the usual package holidays for plane/hotels during school hols.
In the meantime I have a couple of trips booked, first is Southport again in the Motorhome with the girls as half term, so just under 2 weeks away. Its my birthday and then my youngest 2 days after so I have all her money already saved from the accelerated fund focus I completed last month. She can choose what she wants to do, but its likely bowling/cinema and shopping. For me its usually a meal out and some shopping too! Then back end of May we are off to Cornwall for the week, again in the motorhome. We have been to same place for 3 years now and love it, not far from beach and very relaxing!
Usual DD for £69 to Sainsburys has come out today and that now takes me to £2027 outstanding debt. My snowballed payment to Lloyds is due on 6th February for £231, so I will have a balance of at least £1796 if I do not manage to send anything further before payday which is highly unlikely. I have £4.62 cleared on Prolific and £5.61 pending so will be able to send something to Lloyds again very shortly. I would love to get into the £1k figure before I get paid again, so Prolific, you need to start ramping up please!
A quiet-ish week for me, I think its the teachers strike on Wednesday so I will have both girls at home with me. Praying my wifi holds up!
I think thats all for now....oh and 78 days and counting to debt freedom!

78 days isn't long at all! I'm thinking along same lines as you with the mortgage. Mine is up end of August so I'm thinking either 1 yr fix or a tracker and then make decision next year about moving. I plan to use this year to do small changes that will add to value.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
