It is from luxair. I was going to have a downdraft due to this ridiculous steel being in the way, then I decided to move the hob to one side of the island (rather than central) which avoided the steel and gave as one useful big chunk of workspace rather than 2 smaller bits. I think you lose a bit of space under your island unit if you go downdraft. One thing I didn't think about at the time was the remote motor in the utility is noisy and is rather close to our bedroom, so my secret midnight feast didn't go down too well!

I am a cook, So anything that makes it easier to clean and does away with the bulky extractor hood and gives me extra space im all for it.
How is the heat control on the induction hobs ? In the accomodation now we have ceramic POS but they retain the heat for ages, hence why I wanted gas, But the more I look at these the more I want this.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I’d be more than happy if this is something our developer was willing to put in

I am really happy with it, the lighting is perfect as well when we cook. You are best to check the unit fits before purchasing (joists can be a problem). Once ours was in it was 2cm below the ceiling, so we added the wooden beading. Worth checking guidance on how far the hob can be from the extractor.1
