just because I'm showing off, here's a pic of the back wall of the kitchen with the glass splashbacks in place.

I’ve seen many an island spoiled by having an extractor fitted above, what’s a ballpark figure for one of these?
You may want to sit down for this one

But in my defense that's about £500 more than when I booked from the kitchen supplier it in December 2020.
Wow! However if you factor in the cost of building in an overhead extractor it’s not that bad!
    your kitchen is outstanding!

We've got one on the island  can't fault it.

The exhaust blows out by your feet.

    It's a Neff 800mm wide.

It means you can talk to guests or look out the windows without an extractor in your face.

Think I’ve bought the exact same hob.

Can I ask where you bought your venting kit from please? Did you buy direct from Neff?

The kitchen fitting company supplied it.

They are a Neff 'approved supplier' so I would imagine it all came direct from Neff.

We were going to go for an induction hob with integrated extractor.  In the end decided to go for a flush ceiling extractor as I liked the idea of the extractor being separate and above the hob.  We went for a remote motor in utility room to keep the noise down.  Does a fantastic job extracting and is quiet in kitchen.  Was a little on the extravagant side though.
  • Im liking these hobs more and more now that I read up on them.

I am a cook, So anything that makes it easier to clean and does away with the bulky extractor hood and gives me extra space im all for it.

How is the heat control on the induction hobs ? In the accomodation now we have ceramic POS but they retain the heat for ages, hence why I wanted gas, But the more I look at these the more I want this.

Our induction hob is amazing,  responsive to heat setting changes and easy to clean.  Happy with my choice and ours was one of the cheaper models you can buy.

I am by no means an expert on this but I have found induction to be almost as good as gas, it does retain heat to a degree but not in a way to affect cooking, you can go from boiling to simmer instantly.

Now I just need to see what I can sort out in my kitchen.

This is the other option we are considering. Any chance of a picture of yours please?
