Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 5 - Trying to recover from the pandemic

Hello....I don't mind cooking most of the time but I get fed up of being the only person in the house capable of producing a meal. My late husband used to use every pot and bowl in the kitchen but there was usually something edible at the end of it. My son was horrified when he asked me what I missed most about his dad and I said "enchiladas" 😂
What kind of posh cat did you get? We have a Korat which is an ancient Thai temple cat and you're supposed to be lucky if you have one in your house. We went for a Burmese as ds was only 4 and I wanted the cat to be fairly resilient and a friend for him. There were two litters of kittens all running round (and up my back and down my front, it was hilarious) and the Korat that chose him did seem fairly resilient and has absolutely adored him right from the start.8 -
Another long time lurker saying hello and welcome back. I enjoyed your previous diary and missed you when you stopped posting. Looking forward to following you on your continuing journey.7

Hey Cranky - I did have a teeny giggle about you missing enchiladas... sorry
The new kitten is a British Shorthair - in my picture. I love him so much, but I love all my cats so much.
NT1 is about to cost me a bomb at the vets again. She had a tumour removed just before lockdown and now has another lump. Unfortunately with her being the age she is I really need to weigh up my options. She's so old and tiny I'm not even sure that she could come through another operation. It makes me cry even thinking about it... they are part of my family. But I will go with whatever the vet says is best. They are a cat only vet and have known me for years so I have a really good relationship with them too.
I don't feel so great today - bit hormonal I think. Intended to get up and go walking but it was pittling with rain when I woke up and has only just stopped. Now I have a bit of a fuzzy head and just don't feel quite right at the moment. It's weird, but days like this I just tend to take whatever comes and try and get an early night. I will see if I can motivate myself to walk even for just half an hour before it gets dark - I'm sure I'll feel better for it.
Went to visit my mam today and catch up over lunch, which was really lovely as always. It's always nice to see her - and she finally seems to have had positive news from the doctors that are investigating her tremor. Hopefully now that she's seen a specialist there will be some positive progress on that front. Fingers crossed because I know how frustrated she is with it all now.
Nothing much else to report. Just sitting here trying to motivate myself...Not giving up

Hey
Banging headache today - after the way I felt yesterday as well I think I can safely assume it's hormone related.
Didn't go to sleep until after 1am after spending over 3 hours detangling a ball of wool (stubborn me refusing to let it get the better of me) and then got up almost bright and breezy at 8am.
Quick shower, rubbish and recycling out, cats sorted, bit of crochet with my detangled wool and then out to our local retail park with bestie and dd. I didn't buy anything for myself (really) but got dd some shoes and a hat for when she starts 6th form in a couple of weeks. Bestie spent £66 on a pair of jeans (which seems beyond ridiculous to someone like me) and then we went to Mr M where I bought the ingredients for a chicken dinner, as requested by ds. So chicken, potatoes and ys veggies for dinner tonight.
Remembered to ring the vet - NT1 is booked in for Friday. Better prepare myself financially and emotionally for that - it's going to be a tough one. Please keep everything crossed. She is happy enough, eating, drinking and sunbathing as normal - so I'm trying not to fret too much about it, but worrying is what I do best.
So I'm trying to decide whether to spend this afternoon napping or crocheting with a bit of telly. DS is still in bed and it's after 1pm so I assume he's going to be a nightmare once he actually wakes up. We shall see.
Really nothing else to report.
