Two very temporary masts so far at distant sites from Bilsdale.Freddie_archer said:I believe Aquiva, have set up an alternative Transmitter now.
Another 80 m solution is in progress very close to the damaged mast site... Likely to replace the other temporary stuff.
That should be on air by the end of the week if things go to Arqiva's plan. That'll help a larger population, but a few unfortunates may still have problems until the old mast can be rebuilt or permanently replaced.

That temporary transmitter is already delayed and won't be up by the 28th after all.Rodders53 said:

Correct - seems Landowner or A N Other is enforcing a long and slow Legal agreement route rather than pragmatic emergency need to permit the work to proceed.JSmithy45AD said:That temporary transmitter is already delayed and won't be up by the 28th after all.
All on the latest via the link I posted above.

Maybe it wasn't such a bad thread. The BBC has conceded to pressure from the Northern Echo and will now be issuing refunds or an extension. Lots of caveats though - has to be after 10 Sept because their system can't handle less than a month. That ought to be changed at once but a result at least.

Woo, the local rag pees and moans for a bit and claims its "pressured" a national organisation to do something. Probably code for made a couple of phone calls, sent an email or two and then drank tea in between those actions.0

Yet another delay on the temporary transmitter due to issues with access and the landowner. You can guess why...0

Yet another temporary relay transmitter site (Sutton Bank) has been added to provide a signal to an area south of Bilsdale https://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/work-warning/news/waw-problems-with-television-sand-radio-services-in-north-yorkshire-and-teeside/#/Notification
Local MPs are calling for an Ofcom enquiry into why it's taking so long :rotfl:0

Or perhaps some of the metal or other trackway used for crossing difficult ground is already booked out and not available for immediate hire.Freddie_archer said:

Or issues with its route, hedges or trees in the way, and agreement about remediation afterwards, any number of slightly awkward details. Or not enough lorry drivers.
Edit: or perhaps a bit more relevant, planning and booking hundreds of helicopter trips to move hundreds of tons of concrete, etc, to a remote environmentally sensitive site.0
