The one thing I miss from my flat is my multi tool. It cut through metal, sanded things, did small sawing jobs...7

So my grocery budget has not been spent as I am in the States for a few days and its 28 degrees! I went to the hotel gym before 7am today and yesterday I had a fabulous swim in the pool.
Just wonderful wandering around in a sleeveless dress - feels a million miles (well 4000 km I think) from LondonStill being MSE as I even went to Publix a grocery store rather than having loads meals out .
one very large apple 3 dollars!
however they do great sushi for 8-16 dollars ..My first DF coffee was 7.22 dollars but now getting my hotel filter ones for 3 bucks instead
my eBay - 24 items up so far so 3 have bids - finishes tomorrow - it includes a larger thing over £120 and as it’s max selling fee £1 I am glad that had gone
I also have a couple dresses with tags on that I was given so hoping they go
As I am decluttering I am really
hoping to get stuff out the house as well as a bit of extra cash. It’s nice staying in a hotel with no stuff .. however it’s v unlikely my home will ever look like a hotel - though I do have one friend who has managed that level of declutter - she is a bit OCD as she will admit herself .Hope everyone is keeping warmDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I own four power saws. So clearly don't listen to me 🤣🤣🤣I will look. I dont have any outside space at present though which is a good thing.
I am currently at one power tool - an sds drill - which I am getting used to and still currently a bit scared of electric saws - hopefully by the time I have done a term of carpentry I will feel more comfortable with jigsaws and powered and non powered saws!
I am missing this weeks DIY classes as I am in 28 degree heat and about to spend my afternoon by the pool swimming and sunbathingBack to reality soon though and cold.
@dawnybabes good luck! I have just sold 6 of my 24 ebay items - I will be posting them as soon as I fly back. Looks like £346 minus postage (most of it I have included postage) plus was max £1 selling fee special offer per item - given I have 2 things over £100 I feel I have done well. Hopefully I will clear over £300. The others have renewed .. I will wait for the next ebay sellers listing offer to add more on -
I normally travel with loads of stuff but as this was a short trip I only took a small case ... and the lack of my clutter in the hotel room was quite inspiring. Maybe my clutter - though its mainly tidy (apart from my study) affects my productivity ... so I will be getting back to the minimalist game when I get back.
I did 'declutter' 100s of receipts on the plane out and processed them so feeling good about that. I paid for plane wifi 35 dollars but felt it was worth it to catch up on some work - may do the same on my flight back. I have my tax return to actually file this weekend as well as pay remainder. Will put less on account this year as still so many unpaid invoices.
I have moved my Fidel ISA s&s to Vanguard this month as they are putting the fees up from Feb 1st if you have less than £25k in. Last time I moved old isas from Hargreaves into Fidelity they took forever - lost some funds !! etc as they held different classes of funds and I got a goodwill payment it was such a mess. So this time I have switched everything over first before transferring including all my lovely REITS into Vanguard funds so I am in the market and no sales processes to get messed up by Fidelity.
The cost difference is also a lot even without the new Fidelity fee - - I will look when it is all transferred. but on £20k in s&s ISA been about £6/month just in platform fees - so about £70 per year in Fid vs my Vanguard at £32k (so 60% more) on the last year have been £41.51 (avg £3.46pm)
I know I can only have Vanguard funds in the Vanguard isa/sipp but thats a big difference especially as many of the V funds also have lower mgt fees.
I do have a small Har Land SIPP acct as well for non Van funds, shares , REITS etc and I may in the future have another S&S isa outside Vang - but as it is partly holding house deposit money as well its fine.
