Also on the power tools... I used to have a slight fear but realized they were quite awkward to use. Their physics did not match my physics 🤣🤣🤣
My hedge trimmer stood on end reached my waist. And my hands are too small to get good grip. So sometimes the fear is justified 😁5 -
KajiKita said:I remember working two part time jobs as student - 7 days a week as a chambermaid, so an early start and three days a week as a barmaid, so late nights. By the end of of that summer I was on my knees and in the full flush of youth and energy!Oh and I pretty cleared my huge OD, so treated myself to a silver bracelet so I had *something* to show for working all summer and got lectured by a woman at the bank for not having cleared all my OD! It was at that point I thought ‘stuff it’ to the levels of debt I was getting into, as I was getting told off anyway fro having worked my tush off all summer ….! 🙄😳😂😂😂
KKDo you still have the bracelet ?
@savingholmes yes but I didn’t manage to get to the gym, too many bits and then I went to the doctor.Had my copper coil removed and a mirena coil put in, ouch … it’s fine today but nearly fainted from the procedure.I did manage to go out yesterday to a friends bar anniversary and there was a v famous old skool DJ playing- he was as fabulous as when I saw him dj over 20 years ago. I danced til 3am and managed to do 7000 steps from midnight to 3am alone on the dance floor .. didn’t drink that much so a good workout and fun was had !
My feet .. ouch though
so on 2/16 NSD
also bought grocery £24 Thursday
Mr Lid still run out DF milk so had to go to Sainsbury and pay £1.50 each per carton on the reduced Alpr*. Can’t believe it’s not milk
I am away this weekend for a family birthdayDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

@LadyWithAPlan, that’s what I thought! And yes, I do still have the bracelet! 😊
I have never contemplated a coil - apparently I have a backwards facing cervix (sorry if TMI) and the amount of ‘ferreting about’ it would probably require to fit or remove said item, makes me shudder just to think of it! 😂
Your night out sounds wonderful! I used to love that kind of ‘rave up’ 😉 I can relate to the sore feet and strongly recommend V-Nal horse chestnut cream (avoid the gel versions, they don’t work nearly as well) - absolutely magical stuff 😊

I hope you are staying accountable to yourself - the last time you took a bit of a break on here you got a bit spendy! However I do have my budget and have been sticking to it despite some lacklustre payments of invoices.
Hope you are all well. Ive just been juggling a few different contracts and now trying to figure out 2023 with work and my plan etc. The old contract is still a few days a week and whilst I have been paid some I am still owed over £20k+..
This has been depressing me a little as its slowing down house deposit saving and my pension. I am planning to move my programme forward for a possible Jan 1st launch..
DIY - the joy is realI now own a SDS concrete drill (was gifted it as it was spare from a family member) and actually put a picture on my wall yesterday. I also got a lesson on floor tiling and some free tiles/glue etc from a family member so I have painted, glossed and retiled the bathroom floor with vinyl tiles. I have never tiled anything in my life but it looks great
In class we have learnt to change ceiling lights, rewire, wallpaper, make carpentry joints ... 2 more sessions to do including wall tiling then I will rejoin next year
Winning an energy company prize draw
I am eyeing up a couple things on Black Friday, including for this side hustle as I need to switch software and learn to use it so .. great news is I have randomly won some money from my energy provider monthly draw - which more than covers it) I was going to save all my winnings but this will be a great use and will get me started on a new income stream. Its an expensive purchase (and will be tax deductible) but I do need to do the move - so just deciding where on the scale to buy what I need - so nothing too excessive but will allow me to grow and learn.
Looks like side hobby will start up in Jan at a slow rate so it gives me a month or so to get up to speed on the new software etc,.
I also really want but have still not bought a heated throw, a new washing up bowl - mine has developed a split... and a GF Bread maker - however I will ask for the breadmaker as a Xmas present..Buying GF bread today and its now £3.50 a loaf...I just refuse to buy it. So I am being frugal in other ways although been lots of family bdays which are not frugal and Xmas is looming ...
Grocery spending I have now just fully spent my £140 Challenge for the month of Nov today - £28 was at Lidl today. I also used £2.45 from a won Sainsb voucher on some GF wraps and made chicken bean burritos - all ingredients from Mr Lidl inc guac, salsa, and I added rice to - so delicious..
Not spent my bulk fund as yet as yet though but I am about to come to the end of my coffee batch buy.
I have been feeling that I was buying YS over super healthy food - so decided I need to buy healthier. I have often been picking up YS food and I want to be frugal but I also want to be healthy. So the last 2 shops I have bought a Corn fed FR chicken from Lidl - costs about £10 each but as I live alone last weeks I got 4 meals out as chicken, made a truly great chicken stock from it which I used for 3 portions of chicken and leek soup plus it made the base and a Thai green curry stuffed with green vegs and the chicken scraps. Far better than some YS GF sausages or some sweets,Til Debt Do Us Part - tv show
I have been watching on Youtube this Canadian TV debt and budget show which many of you may know. 21 min episode on a different couple or family each week going thru their spending and huge amounts of debt - check it out if you havent seen it - https://youtu.be/5AF1s1NBrrA

You can pick up a washing up bowl from Poundland or Wilko - one that leaks isn't worth having! (Or do what I do, and just use the sink)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!4 -
Well done on staying reasonably on plan. How frustrating re the invoices.
Good news about the impending programme launch and a slow burn start for your side hustle being imminent. Loads of progress.
Get the throw - it will improve your quality of life and reduce costs.
Well done on the win. How fab. Great that the course is still paying dividends too. Lovely to have a nicer bathroom space.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I used my John Lewis vouchers towards one of their fabulous faux fur velvet backed throws. I used a loyalty offer and got it for £76 and it is so warm. Def don't need a heated one. It's just more electricity and something else to go wrong IMHOSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
