Tx @savingholmes
it’s been v busy since I got back to London 2 days in and I am back to rushing around
@Alchemilla you are most welcome -I love coffee but next time can I get a GF cake please
did my side hustle yesterday and today and got great feedback .. I then went out into soho this eve , caught up with friends , london is quieter at 3 degrees mid Jan but still the party goes on . The one joy about winter is the excuse to wear fabulous coats!I paid for a plumber yesterday to sort boiler out so I now have hot water but now need a fan so that’s on order - looks like it will be £1250 cost by time all is done - an early wake up call to home ownership
Helped a friend and a relative with their SA tax returns. .. all are now done
Flat is all quiet on the Western front currently . I think they will wait till mid Feb and then we will see movement
my work schedules for various clients is suddenly busy but I have a last class tomorrow so I have homework for that to do in morning as well.Training wise - I went to my EMS class 5 hours after landing from a long haul flight(!!) .. the benefits and motivation of paying weekly fir gym (as opposed to annual ) is you go as not to lose any sessions . Back tomorrow as well - I am definitely eating loads in this cold so important to keep the exercise up at least .DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

I must admit I don’t understand why you are paying for the boiler repair when you rent ….? 🤔
Well done on getting back into the training again and the busy workload 😊 Any news on the monies owing from main client?

Or a fan? Or is that in the boiler 🤔?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!5 -
I'm guessing you are paying because of the new landlord problems? Can it go as a bill to be reclaimed at a later stage?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
I do not blame you for getting the boiler repaired but how you will get the money back will be tricky hopefully your lawyers have advised you. Unfortunately that is the joys of homeownership as well.
Well done on the side hustle sounds like its going well can it take over as your main income stream at some point in the future?

@TallGirl my side hustle was my main income before Covid but stepped back into finance to pay my bills - so trying to right the balance again - easier to get a mortgage though with finance as more regular (contract mortgage) vs with side hustle! You are correct Watty & TG - the landlord is not responding to my messages /emails so 2 weeks of no heating /hot water in this cold I am paying it - the solicitor told me the process to do it including giving them many documented ways to respond including a last ditch attempt to get them send someone out etcLife too short to be freezing & without hot water And I can’t work properly from my home plus the mini electric heaters run expensive so it’s a false economy to not sort this out - I struggled for a week before my trip
I needed a new circuit board £380 plus labour and now need a new fan as boiler not firing £350 plus labour so £1250 hopefully is total .. so hot water I have now and fan hopefully next Monday latest
I definitely will be looking closely at boilers, windows and construction of conservatories etc when I start looking to buy againAlchemilla said:KajiKita said:I must admit I don’t understand why you are paying for the boiler repair when you rent ….? 🤔

If I had the energy I would be screaming blue murder at your landlords …! 😡
Totally get why you decided to sort the fix. If they haven’t resolved the payment for the repair by the time you leave, I would be tempted to take the new parts with me and leave them with the old ones … 😉
🤞 for the regular monthly payment from main client … Do you know what date?KKAs at 15.07.25:
