I did wonder if it had sunk down the priority list thanks to crazy flat situation.
As much as I can see why you need to take on this legal battle, I would be cautious about letting your priorities take a back seat.Your diary is over 3 years old now and although you have done so much in that time, it doesn’t seem like the most important things are getting done. Right now this is a diary about saving lots of money. Which is a great achievement in its own right. Is your client really your main client? What percentage of what they owe you have they paid?
Again, apologies for potential bluntness- I do sometimes get very into knowing the answers9 -
Boiler rather too coincidental is it not? Glaring here too.
Love @WelshmansDaughter The thing about this forum is that we get called out in ways real life people never do - but - with as much care and love as if we were besties in real life.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -

LadyWithAPlan said:I am looking to buy within the next year, and then get MFW and o/p as soon as I can. My savings rate, income generation and focus has been a bit lacking over the last few months.
I need to start soon, rather than talking about it and get going on the house bit.
I am looking at buying my flat in the next year then paying the mortgage off in time in the next 13 years max.
2035 is the goal date for MFW
I am freelance and lost a lot of my normal work due to COVID but took on a well paid project that was 5 days a week in 2020 hence my savings, but now is more like 2.5 to 3 days a week so this has slowed my savings down
I am wondering if I should try and get a new 5 day a week freelance contract job at a much higher rate which I could- but there is long term potential in my current freelance job as a restructure is going ahead
I have been sticking my head in the sand over this as the 3 days a week has been going on all year and I need to make a decision that supports my goals
This is about a plan to get me to win in this area of my life, to future proof it.Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

That is what I love about this forum you get the tough love you wont get from your real life friends and relatives. Come on LWAP you can do it! Stand up for yourself and get that other contract in the bag. The legal fight sounds like there are many others so share the burden so you do not have to lead there too even if you can. Take care of yourself we are all behind you.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I’m going to play devils advocate just a touch here … 😉
I know how demanding a job search is and you need three months income for mortgage applications so I would make that priority number 1.I understand and can see from here how important the legal fight is to your integrity and I also understand how you will feel committed to those involved. For me, I would still have this as priority 2.
Looking after your health; eating well, exercising, sleeping as best you can, I think should probably be priority 3.As for the client, non-payer. I would forget about this for now. Don’t do any work for them but equally, for now, don’t put any energy into chasing them for payment. However, mentally parking them for now and energetically ‘disconnecting’ from these disrespectful and exploitative people (sorry, again blunt, but that’s how I see their behaviour) I hope will give you the energy and mental bandwidth for the above. It’s very easy for all of us to critique YOUR life from afar. We all mean well, but do ignore us and do what your finely honed instincts and values tell you is right. Believing in you 😊KKAs at 15.07.25:

Thirded. I’ve been in the non-paying client situation and when they make up a huge part of your income it’s much easier said than done to just say no. That doesn’t mean it isn’t the right thing to do, but It takes a lot of courage.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
