Totally agree interest on money that will never be paid would not be a good scenario sounds like you are being too nice again LWAP. I know things have been delayed due to the legal action but you don't want to wait forever.
I love my Monzo too and I have joined the 1P challenge as well. So great they do not charge for european withdrawals (up to a limit) and spending on the card.Save £12k in 25 No 49

PennysIntoPounds said:That sounds an interesting challenge LaPlan, how pathetic is it that I thought 'I'd like to do that' then realised how much it would stress me to put those small amounts aside! Could be maybe doable if it's a decent interest rate though, do you get any benefit from referring people?

Another voice to the chorus... If they need you for this next job then you're in a position of strength. It would be a shame to waste the chance. I'd be insisting they settle the arrears in full before accepting any further work from them.5

You could always do the work in the background on the QT (if that's possible) so you could wheel it out at the appropriate moment once they've settled up, so you don't find yourself trying to do it at the last minute under loads of time pressureMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Echoing everyone else LWAP. If a friend was in this situation - substantial sum owed, only breadcrumbs paid despite making it clear they were at risk of homelessness without it - what would you be advising them to do?
Apart from anything, if funding is so precarious are they ever going to be able to pay you or will someone else always take priority? Seems worth seriously thinking about sunk costs fallacy.Debt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

It is my fault I have not spent much time new job hunting this week what with all else so I will get back on that again to replace it.. Plus organising side hustle summer
Good to have push back from you all (tx!) -you are like a Greek chorus echoing truth and justice at me.
To be honest this last month I have had only enough mental energy - post xmas - on my new short term contract (diff company) and the flat fight. I cant fight the battle on too many fronts...;)
Today my boiler mysteriously broke down 30 mins after the new agents were in the building - so that’s tomorrows task - luckily I have a heated throw and standalone heaters here as well
I am now up to date on the new different company contract work in terms of set up and figuring it out the work over the last 3 working days - the work will be over the next few weeks -
I did in-between my new contract stuff figure out my interest in various pots for my end Jan tax SA filings... only thing outstanding for me to file that tomorrow. I started Ynab last Nov 23 and now have payees
-'interest income- not taxable'
'interest income- taxable'
so next year will be a doddle.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
