I'm pretty sure the unwinding of the 100ml restrictions has been undone, IYSWIM - i.e. we're back to square one at all airports again after an issue with the machines was discovered - so definitely stick to your limits!
Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

@themadvix you were right !90 mins sleep then was off to airport - fantastic thing about where I live is there are 24/7 trains to Gatwick and Luton v near to me
had ordered a black cab at 3.03 am pick up to take me to King’s Cross - of course it was cancelled at 2.53am but managed to get an Uber cheaper so .. I could walk in 15 mins but when it’s this dark and work will pay ..
Luton airport now has the shuttle from the train station so much easier now to fly from there plus you can now leave your laptop and toiletries (still under 100ml) in your case so quicker thru security .Was an easy pack yesterday - I know the place well - should be 21 degrees but have a light jacket and an umbrella.I was cooking up chicken breast last night to take with me on the plane as well as took my foldable coffee cup - had it filled for the train but always useful as it squishes down v flat
I also have some prosciutto and walnuts etc to eat at airport - am really trying to stay slow carb the next few days so planning ahead
I have also packed my aeropress and some of my won coffee - they often only have enough coffee for 2 cups in Airbnb’s ..
I always travel with a refillable bottle or two if long haul but being 2 hrs at airport not buying anything is a bit dull - I have plenty of toiletries at home and nothing I need as much as a flat deposit
I normally buy a soya latte etc but as I am not drinking DF milk or normal - I am not that bothered just buying filter . I tried looking for a place to cook me an omelette but nothing GF …
Arrived and it’s 22 degrees, gorgeous sunny with a lovely light breeze - there are kids in swimsuits in the sea ! Still lovely to experience some summer again before the deep midwinter of londonDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Plus this is very smart dressing - some European cities definitely do not understand the London chilled clothing vibe, so I have curated a wardrobe over the years which means I look suitably dressed. Had a quick passing look at the knee length flat black boots which I am saving for, however this is a fashion city so all more than I have saved so far in my ynab pot. These boots will last me a decade or more (last ones 15 years) so I am willing to buy lovely leather but dont want to be spending too much ... so will look in Zara etc
The closing tiff with MWOAP (ex) was he was declaring what we wear does not/should not matter - however in big business it definitely makes a difference unless you are the tech geniusHe even (ridiculously) argued the show I took him to see that day that it didnt matter what even the performers wore, he was there to see the performance not their clothing .. err ..... seriously, lets imagine Julie Andrews or Whoopie Goldberg without the nuns outfit or J Lo in Hustlers on some super sexy outfits
Given when I first re-met MWOAP he had put on a super smart 3 piece suit for me (only to meet me -he didnt have any business meetings that day), he clearly was losing the plot
'costume is character' is definitely a truth for me, how I dress to the gym, for meetings, going out etc - it all does portray an image I have crafted (this includes my slovenly home jogging pants ways). It helps me get into the character of 'gym fabulous', 'power businesswoman' 'fabulous creature of the night' - one wonders if my brain speed changes to match my outfits
.. my attitude and walk (and shoes!) definitely does.
Apartment is ok, lovely large terrace the width of the flat, but the one door does not quite lock.. I am on the 4th floor but as I am used to living high in the air, I am used to feeling safe with all windows open. Not here, though its a lovely area of an expensive city.
I am loving looking out the windows to see the trees and the fabulous architecture and ate my dinner/breakfast outside.
It makes me think again that I will probably need to get a dog or bars on my ground floor windows when I buy with a garden.
Every time I have rented a ground/lower ground floor flat I have been burgled in London so I am aware of this. (One even smashed their way through the front bay window!) I was at work, he was high apparently and the police cornered him in the kitchen brandishing our Chinese meat cleaver that never got returned.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Have a lovely trip. A touch of summer sounds fabulous.
Totally get the clothes thing. Whilst the ex and I were together but I was struggling with his behaviour I invested in some style coaching with a stylist. We had a day where we totally cleared my wardrobe, and I mean totally cleared. Things were sorted into 3 piles, donate, sell, keep. The keep was carefully curated to fit the life I was going to move into. I had no idea what that was but she pushed me beyond my then life so I found new ways of wearing old clothes.
Then we made a shopping list and went shopping. I've gained weight so some of those clothes no longer fit but they really helped me transition into my the life that was to unfold.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!8 -

Don’t Toscos sell frozen cauli rice?
KKWelshmansDaughter said:I just did a quick search on trolley and tesco, m and s, asda all have cauliflower rice. There is an online store that does it as well. Supposedly iceland still does it but I suspect it depends on your location 🤦
Could in theory make potato rice. Mash is also very nice with beans
@watty1 tx will try on the recipes... On the clothing sounds like she really helped you see a happier, bigger life.
The 22/23 degrees here and with a smart loose summer dress I am breathing in the sun. Every time I sit in it I just am loving the feeling of the heat on my skin...
