No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Been too busy and away the last 2 months so getting back into frugality once home this weekend. I am only away 5 days next month at present
EDIT: Just remembered next month I am being Ms Doolittle again for a week but just looking after friends one v large gorgeous dog as she is part of my extended London family. So I will stay there - v expensive part of London - but she will no doubt add some chicken and kale in fridge for me. The dog is super cute but HUGE (only one year old and over 50kg) and loves me - last time the dog either always had her head on my foot if I was sat at the table, or would curl around my back on the sofa like a hot water bottle. Has to be walked 4 times a day at least.
Around doing some work today (started v early) I am trying to pop out today to a famous huge ‘rag market’ - a bit of a trek via trains but my 3 favourite dresses I want to try and make copies of them in some initially cheap but fun summer fabrics. They are all stretch which I gather is an issue but have no zips, sleeves etc so that’s easier. The one dress I can cut apart to make the pattern as it’s had it - stretches too much and has holes In But it fits me so well - long, halter neck, I love it - it does have a bias centred waist panel so will be tackling that second
Dress one is literally 4 pieces of material and a string around the waist - the waist has elastic thread so that one I am starting with.Never tried this but my mum is great so can guide me on choosing fabrics and the dresses themselves are not difficult- no darts, zips etc .. plus need 2metres for each so I plan to pick up some cheap fabrics so if it goes wrong I am
less concerned and can learn to improve .I want to action my garment construction courseDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)

Sounds like you are all set for the dresses it is so nice when you can replica something that is worn out I want to do that with my yoga pants to get them long enough and the cross over waistband.
Hope you find what you are looking for and if you do that you can chose and not end up buying far too much fabric.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I would like to win a garden makeover please! Very specifically I would like that makeover to include weeding and cleaning and resanding patio 1, repointing and restoring patio 2, replacing all the paths, creating a daisy lawn and filling one bed with pink shrub roses and a blue flowering salvia and then something inspirational in the other 3 beds.
Oh and is it too cheeky to ask to win a block paving drive? As well?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
I would like to win a complete makeover of our outdoor spaces. I would like the style to be sympathetic to the setting, both the age and style of our house and the ancient woodland we back on to. I need it to be lowish maintenance and supportive of wildlife. I would like a year round garden with a variety of places to sit and take pleasure in the garden. The paths need relaying and the stolen flags replaced and outside taps fitted along with water butts. I would also like to win the support of a mentor to help me make the most of what could be a beautiful garden.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
