I have received Letter of Claim from BW legal. Im not sure if my defence will be any good because I just completely forgot to pay for my parking that day, I didnt even notice the parking signs. Should I just pay the £160 they have requested for and get it over with or should I defend it?

Defend it because the added £60 is false.

A LBC doesn't necessarily get followed by a claim (so you might never get a claim) and precisely because a DRA or BW has inflated the claim by £60, the difference if you actually got a court claim, defended and lost is negligible.

Do respond at the END of the 30 days, asking for their evidence and saying you are "seeking debt advice".

That adds a further 30 days and should get the case pushed beyond the time when the new statutory draft Impact Assessment gets published...

...which (to be clear) I am GUESSING but I am quietly confident - and it's an educated guess/hope - that reason will continue to prevail re the added false fees, as it did in 2022 when the scales finally fell from thd DLUHC's eyes on this 'fees'  issue.

I honestly think that the draft Impact Assessment will put the cat among the pigeons for pending inflated court claims.

So you may as well try the above and see.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
