All current accounts will show on your credit report including Starling.
It will, but I doubt having an extra bank account will strongly affect your ability to get credit, especially if you don't have an overdraft.

Planting a tree for each new joiner isn't a bad thing either.

That is not the same as a hard credit check at application time.

I have over three dozen active current accounts showing on my credit files and can confirm that they do not affect my ability to get credit.

Thanks for that info but that's not what the OP asked...Can I get a simple bank account with no credit check that won't show on credit report?

So we both only answered part of the OP's question

But in any case, as I already posted, neither the occasional hard credit check nor the number of current accounts listed on a person's credit file have a negative impact on the person's creditworthiness.

I already have HSBC, Halifax and Lloyds.
Or would it be possible to open a second account with one of these?

If you can, I'd go with a second account with one of the ones you already bank with, as it will save a lot of admin with ID checks etc.
Variation on OP's question, what banks will allow opening an additional current account without a hard credit check? IIRC Lloyds (and Halifax?) have been mentioned before but not sure if that's a rule or just anecdotal evidence.

Starling and Monzo don’t do hard checks but only allow one personal account each

As I posted elsewhere, the occasional hard check is not detrimental to your ability to obtain credit. There is way too much fear around about these checks.

Starling allow two, but they charge you £2 per month for the second one.

I think all current accounts will show on your credit report. If you don't want this to happen, then you'd need to get an e-money account, for example Revolut. The main downside to e-money accounts is that they do not come with FSCS protection, although I'd think your chance of losing all your money is extremely low.

There are advantages to having your current account(s) showing on your credit files as they are credit accounts, regardless of whether you are using an overdraft on them or not, and are therefore information that helps in establishing your creditworthiness. They won't obviously have a positive impact if you are constantly missing payments but that's a bad idea anyway. I can't think of any constructive reason why you would want to hide a current account from your credit files.
