Help! Debt Recovery Plus.

Hello, I’m trying to find some advice regards Debt Recovery Plus. I have read the newbies post but it isn’t straight forward to read. I’ve got myself into a situation as I hadn’t updated my log book and debt recovery plus have therefore now located me and advised me I have two parking tickets. They have said they would do me a deal for £250 to pay off both tickets. I’m obviously to blame as I genuinely hadn’t seen the parking ticket machines and also for not updating my log book. I keep receiving letters and I have had one phone call where the staff member was threatening and not professional. Any advice would be appreciated, I’m mindful the general theme appears to be to ignore the letters however it’s causing me anxiety. I also cannot see how they can justify the charge increase it’s completely unreasonable and as I’ve read “an attempt at double recovery”.

Block their telephone number. Ignore true debt collector letters. Do not ignore a letter before/of Claim. Submit a SAR to the DPO of the PPC to find all the data they have on you. Knowledge is power. Submit a Data Rectification Notice to the DPO of the PPC informing them of your new address for service as and from DD/MM/YYYY. Require them to inform all their agents and sub-contractors and to ERASE all your old data. You do not want a sneaky CCJ by default because you did not receive a claim form.3

If you did not see the signs perhaps they were not sufficiently prominent. The log book has nothing to do wth them. Hpw is there double recovery? Reasonableness does not enter into it, the industry is unregulated and contract law only applies. Have you read thisExcel v Wilkinson
At the Bradford County Court, District Judge Claire Jackson (now HHJ Jackson, a Specialist Civil Circuit Judge) decided to hear a 'test case' a few months ago, where £60 had been added to a parking charge despite Judges up and down the country repeatedly disallowing that sum and warning parking firms not to waste court time with such spurious claims. That case was Excel v Wilkinson: G4QZ465V, heard in July 2020 and leave to appeal was refused and that route was not pursued. The Judge concluded that such claims are proceedings with 'an improper collateral purpose'. This Judge - and others who have since copied her words and struck dozens of cases out in late 2020 and into 2021 - went into significant detail and concluded that parking operators (such as this Claimant) are seeking to circumvent CPR 27.14 as well as breaching the Consumer Rights Act 2015. DJ Hickinbottom has recently struck more cases out in that court area, stating: ''I find that striking out this claim is the only appropriate manner in which the disapproval of the court can be shown''.

We need victims to respond to the Government Consultation and pour your heart out about what this scam PCN is doing to your mental health and how horrific it is that PPCs add a 'pay us or else' debt recovery layer. Also tell them how rude and aggressive DRP are.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You need to create your own thread, rather than piggy-backing on someone else's, unless you are @clarab1990 and have changed your user name. To answer some of your questions SAR = Subject Access Request and you send this to the PPC, which you have worked out is Private Parking Company. They should send you all the data they hold on you. You don't make telephone calls to PPCs or debt collectors, everything in writing. When you have started your own thread, give the same details as on here and regulars can give you more advice.Powerisyours said:Im really sorry Im suffer from extrem mental Health issues and Im not the brightest of all.
