Mels123 (and anyone else with one of these phones) i'm currently in the same situation - however as i have a 3pay sim card they only (only!!) want to charge me £150 to unlock mine so i've recently e-mailed trading standards, watchdog (who've already featured 3 on their programme) OFT (who advise they can't deal with individual cases) and e-mailed 3 themselves again via https://www.howtocomplain.com. The more people that do this the more 3 will realise they can't get away with what is (for the sake of arguement) legalised extortion.

The OFT says that the cost of unlocking a handset should be proportional to the cost of doing so without retaining an element of profit. It also frowns upon using this method to claw back any of the subsidy spent by the network in the first place to make the h/set so cheap - which is what 3 appear to be doing. I have no problems whatsoever paying the £15-20 the other networks charge to unlock a handset as it's a superb feature rich h/set which i will enjoy using - once i can get it unlocked!

Insert the WRONG sim card.
When it says phone restricted,
press "undo."
It will ask for a restriction code
and enter the code in to the box
on screen
input this code.

Isnt it a bad idea to advertise imei numbers online, cant they can be cloned and all sorts. :think:

I suggest people just visit nokiafree.org and download the tool its dead easy to use instead of posting requests, have a quick search on the forum if the mobile model isnt listed in the program, for the unlock instructions. Only takes a jiffy.

thats why I ask people to send me a message if they are worried

the calcs are fine but some of the settings are wrong and you need to know what you are doing

I've never heard of any one cloning a phone from an IMEI yet...they need to clone your sim card to defraud you (would need the phone in their hands and nigh on impossible anyway )
