Yes. The OP said the buyer wanted to book their own courier.p3ncilsharpener said:
What do you mean by "book collection." Book a courier?RFW said:
The seller couldn't claim if the buyer books collection. The buyer then has the contract with the courier. That was my point to show the buyer that it is in their cumulative best interest to book collection.p3ncilsharpener said:
You said it would be more difficult to claim if the buyer arranged the courier. It wouldn't, why would it?RFW said:
I'm not saying they wouldn't know but if the seller offers to use the same courier for their own piece of mind there's no good reason a genuine buyer would refuse that.p3ncilsharpener said:The buyer can claim if they arranged the courier. A smart scammer, or person in general, would know this.
Irrelevant now the OP isn't bothering but feel free to keep arguing I'm here all day

So why would you, as the seller, want to tell the buyer that it's in their interest to book collection, when if the item goes astray, you'll need to refund them and they can claim from the courier?RFW said:

It's extremely difficult to get money back from an account once it's paid in by bank transfer.
I did it by mistake a few years ago being one digit out. I called the bank and they made the request to the recipients bank but was informed that if the recipient refuses there is not a lot they can do as the recipients personal details are never given out so no personal details are ever given to the bank or the sender.
I was luck and the mistake was rectified by the recipient.
Money laundering wouldn't come into this, it's easy to prove the funds came from a sale in this case.
I would and have accepted bank transfer many times and never once worried about it because of how secure it is.
Have you never wondered shy so many people getting scammed this never get there money back?0
