Just bought a Samsung 40" LCD :)

So in simple terms, I don't need to buy a better quality cable to improve the performance on the TV? If so I'll take your word on it!

I mean if its so minor id have to be 2 inches from the tv to tell I dont care. Its just for standard home use... If there is a big difference I dont mind spending a bit more.. Just so much conflicting info on the web and not many facts

I have standard scart cables that are thicker than cheap ones but they not expensive and tbh I only have a Humax pvr to the tv and hdmi 3 to dvi (I metre long) for pc, I set option for rgb to tv one scart takes rgb scart I believe. I will be using component cable for a wii at Christmas

Meh.. got a Component cable for 360 so can't get one for the wii as well *sob*. Saying that I'm more of a 360 gamer and the girlfriend just players Mario on the wii :S

Right so there's no point in me spending money on a better scart cable as it stands then I suppose...!

yes there is a point - don't buy the 99p ones spend a bit but probably not worth spending £75 per cable.

But what about the cable that comes with the skybox? Is that a cable that really need to be upgraded to a better on or will it do a fine job?

tbh not seen the one that comes with the skybox, but I doubt that they spent much money on a freebie (same as cheap cables that generally come with dvd player, hifis etc). Up to you how much you want to spend but as you've already said probably best on ebay as you'll get it from the US at a fraction of the price.

If the connectors feel plasticy and cheap and the wire itself is a bit thin and poorly sheilded then it will probably be worth the upgrade.
