I like pay at the pump when I'm on the motorbike, as it bloody annoys me when petrol stations insist I remove my helmet to go inside and pay.

I work for a firm which owns a lot of petrol station & we will never have pay at pump facilities installed.

Never say never; companies that don't move with the times often get left behind and start to struggle financially.

I've seen a few local fuel stations install pay at pump facilities that only operate while the shop is closed, so they get the benefit of a cheap to run 24 hour fuel station (generating extra income) but still get the footfall in the shop during opening hours. Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Let me guess... because of the shop revenue from people coming in?

But if they start to lose fuel revenue to people who prefer to P@P? That "never" will look short-sighted...

I wonder if Blockbuster said something about never offering streaming movies. If it becomes standard then your company may just not exist if they don't install them.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

A friend of mine's dad runs a petrol station, the profit on fuel is miniscule for him.
In his words it's not worth bothering with, it's the shop and the car wash he makes money from.
If PATP becomes popular, I don't think he'll keep going and that will be yet another petrol station out of the mix locally.
