  • We have a German shedder so our house looks like a barbers shop, we’ve gone through most vacuums but now have a shark can’t recommend it enough.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

I don't like the look of Henry / Hetty but the feedback on MSE is consistently good.

I have a V8. It's ok but I wouldn't say it's brilliant, it wouldn't occur to me to use it on anything other than full power mode though.

My parents have the cordless Dyson one which is absolutely fine on a house that has mostly wooden floors and no pets!

We have the shark uplift CORDED one as well as the cordless Shark.

I use the cordless for the staircase, kitchen/utility (hard floors) and the cars. For all carpets the Shark Uplift corded is amazing. SO much better than our previous Dyson. It actually has such good suction I've had to turn it down. It also makes the carpets look like they have been valeted! The corded Shark is far far better than the cordless.

We have 2 dogs so I vacuum daily and NEED a decent vacuum.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

We have had our Henry since we moved into this house in 1998. I’ve had to take it apart to fix it a couple of times. Once to replace some contacts, and the second time to replace the brushes in the motor. The contacts ought not to have needed replacement, but the brushes are simply a standard service item that one expects to replace from time to time.

One reason that people like them is that they are a very simple, robust design. Parts are easy to get, and it’s easy to work on. Any small appliance repair man can work on them.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Well they have certainly stood the test of time!! They've been going for 40 years with no advertising, that says a lot.

I probably don't need one though as I have little in the way of carpet (and all of this has now been ruined by trades). Nothing beats a soft silicone brush for my floors.

Our cleaners at work use Henry's or Numatic, they are rock solid, I have seen them being dragged on their side and have repaired hoses by cutting a bit off and refitting the hose end and replaced brushes in the motor and they go on and on.

I would have one at home but the wife loves the shark. :)

I’ve used many in my time. The best vacuum cleaner that I have found personally is a standard Henry Hoover.

I have two constantly shedding pets and the fluff is bountiful. Also have awful carpeting where I’m living currently.

After decades of vacuum cleaners by age 65, my dad recommended I switch to Henry and I’ll never go back!

We’ve got a cordless Dyson and a Henry. Personally I hate the Henry and hardly ever use it and I’m now considering utilising it for something else. We’ve had the cordless Dyson for ages now and it’s been great. It has its faults but vastly superior to the Henry IMO.

Henrys seem popular and I’m guessing most would disagree with me but I’d never buy another.

Depends what you mean. I moved away from London in April last year but I’m moving further out in a few months once we complete on the house we’re buying. In Saffron Walden at the moment, moving to Ely.
