EDF offer 2 year fix to ex GNE customers exclusively Fix Total Service Aug23v2
EDF guaranteed to keep monthly payments at GNE or less price until Sept 21, they now offer a 2 year fix exclusively go ex GNE customers IE same price until August 2023. Seems an excellent offer (I have electricity only). Compared to Credit Club current offers iwhich are a lot more expensive per month than this at present . Can anyone see a catch? This offer open until 9th August.

- I know you've been here for over 2 years, but still, first post.
What prices have they offered you? (p/Kwh, daily standing charge, etc)
What is your supply region?
What is your estimated annual consumption figure?
Are you on E7? If so how much is used on cheap rate?

Well for me (previous GNE and now EDF energy) I log in, go to change tariff and see this (I don't have a "Fix Total Service Aug23v2" tariff listed), so I think this is the closest:
Fix Total Service Long-Term
Get our exclusive renewal full-service tariff with call centre support– rates fixed until 31 August 2023.
Electricity unit rate: 18.08 penceDaily standing charge 25.10 pence per dayCurrent tariff
Unit rate Electricity: 12.93p per kWhDaily standing charge Electricity: 20.37p per dayThis is single rate electricity in the Midlands, so its already half as expensive again, so assuming this is not too far away from most other regions I don't see how this is "an excellent offer", unless its something that comes through on email and I just haven't had one yet?I wonder if the OP is just looking at the direct debit amount? For this my debit would rise by £6 above what I'm already paying (and their computer system says is £10 over what I *should* be paying). I can't see EDF honouring a unit rate of just under 13p per kWh for the next two years if that's what the OP is insinuating...1 -
In case it's another 2 years+ before we here from the OP again, the prices quoted by EDF to @Capt_easychord for their exclusive Fix Total Service Aug23v2 posted here don't look very competitive.
Consult an ofgem accredited comparison site to find the best deal for you.
- don't forget to check out separate suppliers where applicable

Ah, I hadn't seen the other post. So the rates I've posted aren't too far away. So if that's their "exclusive fix", then it'll be time to move again after the end of September.

exclusively terrible rates.....oh dear. Definitely switch!1

Big name supplier built to last is actually very good 2 year rate, cheaper than current energy cap. Most are now over 19pkwh

@bristolleedsfan Quite possibly - but @Doots19 says it matches the present rate. There's a mistake there somewhereNever pay on an estimated bill0

There's a mistake there somewhereI think Doots19 is referring to EDF/GNE price guarantee until 30 September albeit stated 21 September,2 Year fix is merely EDF trying to entice former GNE customers long term, same price refers to 2 year fix rates not changing for 2 years, last month EDF were also offering £50 credit to former GNE Customers as part of 2 year fixed rate deal1

This is the 'best' offer I see when I choose the Change Tariff option as well. I've already started a switch away and I never received any 'new' offer from EDF to stay with them. For me, when running a price comparison, EDF weren't even in the 10 best deals. As it is, I'm already going to be paying substantially more than the deal I signed with GNE just over a year ago but seems to be what the market is right now
