    The MMMYY date on the back of the licence that the OP is asking about isn't in any of the columns, it's in the bottom left quarter just in front of the "DE" and the "fklnpq" in column 9.  It appears under the coat of arms.

    (It would seem from other posts that it does not appear on licences issued pre-2013 as it was a 2013 change?)
    My licence, which was issued in December 2011,  has the hologram and date on it. The date corresponds to the expiry date of the photocard, ten years after it was issued as I'm well under the age of 70.

    Column 10 does not necessarily show when the holder passed a test. It shows when they first obtained entitlement to that category, which may or may not be the same thing. For those people who passed a test prior to the computerisation of licence records in 1973, column 10 will show a date of 1973 or later i.e. the first renewal of an old-style local county office issued licence.
