I've used google but cannot find an answer.
On the rear in the bottom left there's a hologram of my picture with a date, is this the date the physical pink card was created ?

Also. Im trying to figure out what date I passed my driving test ( for a car )
Is this in field "B" under the column "10."  ?

Thanks

On my photocard licence (which I got in 2013) section 4a on the front shows the Valid From date, and section 4b is the Valid To date (for the photocard, not the validity of my entitlement to drive). The table on the back shows the entitlement dates (From [section 10] / To [section 11]) for each class [section 9]. The date in section 10 for class B will show when you passed your car test. :)

I thought the pink paper part was no longer relevant? (i.e. all you need is the photocard, even if you originally got it with the paper counter-part).

My photocard (or paper counter-part) doesn't have a hologram in the manner you describe. Perhaps that appeared later than 2013 when I got mine.

    ...with a hologram...?

The ONLY licence somebody gets now is a photocard. And it is indeed pink.
(Unlike the paper one I had before a photocard, which was blue-green.)

Yes, B on the back is your normal car and small van category. The "from" date (column 10) is usually the test pass date.
4a on the front is the photocard's issue date.
  • Isn't the date the OP is referring to the month and year you hit 70?  It certainly is on my photocard in the format MMMYY

(That's assuming the OP is referring to the odd shaped - a bit like a rounded triangle - little section at the bottom left of the back of the photocard.  Not sure it's a hologram of the photo though but it has MMMYY superimposed on it)

Column 11 will show the date you hit 70, at least for class B anyway. ;)

That's column 11, the date in the future... Column 10, the date in the past, is the date your eligibility for that category started.

The actual photocard itself's had various layout amendments over the years, but the data references are all standardised.

Realised that - and deleted misleading response. I was confused because there is so much info on Google about photocard licences, which I have not ever known to be referred to as pink. My bad.

Maybe we are at cross purposes but it's not column 11 I'm looking at (and neither I think is the OP?).

In that sample photocard you've posted I think the OP is looking at the rather faint "greyed out" JAN20 towards the bottom left.  (Just to the left of the "DE" and the "fklnpq" appearing at the foot of column 9.  On my photocard the equivalent of the JAN20 is the month of my 70th birthday - but perhaps that is just a coincidence?)

I think that MMMYY reference is the expiry date of the photocard.
