Thanks, Will draft up my reply and send it over the weekend as guess nobody will pick it up until Monday.0

IMHO it shouldn't matter which way up the ticket is just so long as the date and expiry time of the ticket is visible but that's just the over zealous councils for you. The council should have photo's of the ticket as they should for any parking ticket.Someone please tell me what money is0

Thhis imo, is a very minor "offence" read this,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_minimis#:~:text=De minimis is a Latin, court refuses to consider trifling
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Happens a lot and there is a policy to cover the situation, at least with Councils there is (and private operators will soon have to follow when the law changes in 2022).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Contributory negligence on behalf of the PPC. If they really wanted the details to be observable from outside the car, they would provide a sticky-back ticket like the vast majority of the PPCs round where I live.1

Yes, there was no sticky tab on it so to be fair could have 'blown over' !!1

Known as a fluttering ticket
What need to be realised is that people make simple mistakes or the weather can play a part
The point should be to minimise human error , not punish it !! Prevention of incorrect actions
If you key in the wrong pin at a cash point , it tells you and terminates the transaction!!
It does not charge you £40 or more for a keying error !!
IMHO it's petty to use the jobsworth option to maximise revenue in matters like these , the fact that payment was made in good faith should trigger a good faith and good will response !2 -
Sorry just home now and able to focus on resolving this - trying to not sucked into making a mountain out of a molehill when on my holidays - which I nearly did!
Drafting a polite reply to challenge payment !
