Parking Ticket - Pay and Display Ticket was Upside Down

Paid my pay and display but inadvertently put it the wrong way round on the dashboard (no sticky side). Returned to £60 council parking ticket. The ticket I bought has the date and time so shows I was being 'lawful' but they obviously couldn't see it so gave me a ticket. I still have the ticket showing date/time/£2 payment. Is it worth an appeal ? Am I likely to be successful? Many thanks!

As this is council , go to pepipoo fightback forums using a non Hotmail email address for sign-up , post in the council section there after reading the posting requirements like pictures of the PCN etc3

Thanks, will have a look. Can you advise why no hotmail address please?0

Polite letter or email to the council may work but do it quickly.2

Set up a free gmail address if you need to.3 -
as above , it definitely wont work for verification of your account if you use MS hotmail or outlook, so will faildoesnt matter what the reason is, because it just wont work , you have been warned2

Thanks! Can use my gmail. Partner can't be bothered with hassle and wants to pay but we bought a ticket in good faith albeit they couldn't see date/time so worth a challenge to me.0

Partner is completely wrong.
This one is easy to appeal, being a Council and not a greedy private parking firm
The Council will cancel the PCN. You may even be able to find their Parking Appeals Policy online if you search. Many Councils publicise their policies and the MHCLG has stated that it wants all Councils to do this, so people know what they can genuinely appeal about and have confidence about winning, without too much anxiety.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK, same applies, the Council must have a policy for this and are likely to cancel if it's a first 'offence'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
