Zog has a simple billing system - meter reads on last day of the month, bills follow 8-10 days later. I made a meter read error and had a "are you sure" email a few days later.
I don't like the suppliers who only bill every 6 months -Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill3 -

EDF told me that most customers are on annual billing now but if you call up they will generate a one off bill for you

When I was with EDF they used to bill 6 monthly but if you submitted an on line read more than 28 days after a previous read it would generate a bill, does that not still hold ?Another vote for Zog here although currently not overall very cheap their fix is one of the cheapest. Simple billing, no real on line presence. There CS does seem to have gone down hill as they don't always get back to you within the hour now !!0

My only Edf experience comes from my enforced switch from GNE which might be being handled differently (it's been very poor so far). I've provided monthly reads since the account was opened and the only hint is - wait until we ask you for a read and then we will bill you.molerat said:When I was with EDF they used to bill 6 monthly but if you submitted an on line read more than 28 days after a previous read it would generate a bill, does that not still hold ?Another vote for Zog here although currently not overall very cheap their fix is one of the cheapest. Any present Edf users like to comment. ?I've been providing EDF with monthly meter readings, that gave me a very good argument to challenge their estimated billing and get it replaced with a correct billing showing actual readings within 24 hours of my complaint. They only needed to view my online account to see the validity of my argument. It also torpedoed EDF's attempt to increase my monthly ddm by them revising down my forecasted annual consumption of both gas and electric. Now, touch wood, it looks like my account is running like clockwork.
