I give my cat some chicken as a treat.

I have two grandkitties that live with me 🥰🥰 (my daughter is unable to have them where she lives), they both get a special tea when it’s a birthday day, when it’s oldest kitty’s birthday they get fish (as that’s his favourite treat), when it’s younger kitty’s birthday they both get chicken (younger kitty’s favourite). I sing “Happy Birthday” and always get the same puzzled look (what is that noise and why are you directing it at me?! 🤣) from them both 😁Like a previous poster, big presents such as cat trees, new scratching posts, new beds etc are given when an offer/a voucher coincides with replacements being needed.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I don't know about birthdays, but I'm a carer with a dog-sitting service, and if I have dogs staying over Christmas there's almost always a present in their luggage for them to unwrap. Usually a toy, or one of those stockings with bags of treats in.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)3 -
yes - she is family. it is always items she needs or treats that we would have had to buy anyway!

My mother would never do that: she preferred to spend Christmas on her own rather than leave the cats.Signature removed for peace of mind4 -
Every year I make my dog a birthday cake and his three favourite doggie chums are invited to the party.
His cake consists of sticky plain boiled white rice moulded into the bottom and sides of a pyrex bowl. Then I fill the middle with plain cooked chicken, peas and carrot chunks, put a 'hat' of more sticky rice on top, and invert it onto a plate, and pop 'candles' on top. The candles are carrot sticks spelling out his age in Roman numerals.
We all sing happy birthday while he eats the candles, then the cake is dished out to all the dogs while the humans sip champagne.3 -
It looks as if I am in the minority here as I don't give my kitties gifts for Christmas, nor their 'gotcha' days. They eat well all the time; treats are limited in the same way that they were for my son; toys, beds etc are provided as and when. I love them to bits but, let's be honest, they have no concept of birthdays etc. It's not difficult!
'Wander' - to walk or move in a leisurely manner.
'Wonder' - to feel curious.2 -
My pets are part of my family so I do celebrate their birthdays/gotcha days with a extra special treat
Daft but it makes me (and them happy) to celebrate!Newly retired and looking forward to
a fulfilling, positive & happy future.1 -
clearly I'm in the minority too.
No, my hounds get nothing special for their birthdays. They get great attention all year instead! Cuddles, walks, long walkies with a dog walker and great food: what more might they wish for????
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
