How to boost ebay listings and increase views

I’ve read a lot about the algorithms and tried variations on BIN / auction, postage or freepost etc but there’s no consistency. When I search for my listings they are not appearing, I’m not suggesting they aren’t there, just they are so far down they won’t get seen.
I read you need to be a big seller, you need good feedback etc. I could understand that (not agree, but understand), but one of my items is brand new with tags, I have about 40 items for sale as a private seller, and 100% feedback. When I search for one specific item, mine is nowhere to be seen, the ones at the top of the page are pre owned, and I looked at one, the seller only has 2 items listed.
Does anyone have any tips please?

I'm not the best at that on Ebay any more. Keywords and item specifics will help. Make sure your title has relevant and useful keywords in.Ladies Silk Summer Dress Size 14/16 Yellow and Pink Stripes HoobyDooby Brand Newthat's preferable toL@@K stripy dress. Nice. Buy It NowFill in as much as possible on item specifics, even the bits you consider irrelevant. Also make sure you have good pictures that follow the Ebay guidelines. There's nothing stopping you promoting the items yourself on social media. Pinterest and Instagram are good..1

Cheaper listings tend to be at the top so second hand listings are likely to be nearer the top. The sellers who have more than 1 and have a decent sales history will also be at the top.
Pay a couple of % for the promote your listings feature, if you are using the FVF offers that come along every few weeks with the ad fee included it still means you get pretty good deal overall on the commission %.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
I agree with all the above and what ebay tells you sells, and what sticks. However , I am selling some books, they have been listed for months with no takers, ISBN filled out, good photos, good description, full title, and yet the last one that sold in this series was sold by a private seller as ‘history book’ with a stock photo and no description except ‘used, no DJ’ Mine is both in better condition and cheaper and I am a TRS business seller with 5* 100% feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Searches are normally "ending soonest". When yours are due to end yours will be at the top.

For instance I was looking for a specific toy, lets say it was a Chad Valley telephone, UK only , best match in toys showed me phone cases, a couple of dodgy looking BIN listings from mega sellers for Chines branded phones- I got about 3 Chad Valley telephones on the front page and it wasn't until page 2 and after I'd clicked 'see all' that I saw a lot of the actual thing I wanted.
Strangely I then checked for lowest price including P and P and the first return were still several sponsored listings for modern phones and phone cases and the lowest price with P and P still didn't come up first .
I think search is well and truly broken and depends on who throws more money at ebay to get near the top of the list.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I’ve clicked the Boost Your Listing thing to pay an extra fee if it sells. How long does it take to adjust the ranking, because it’s been an hour and my listing is still nowhere near the top? Thanks0

As you can probably tell from the above posts buyers vary a lot. Search by ending soonest or best match but mebeing related to Scrooge it must be cheapest first.
When ebay started manipulating the search results it went downhill for me. Often I get fed up of looking because
all the listings show one price but when you click you find that price is for something totally unrelated. The actual item I was after was either no stock or silly prices. I started blocking most of the site at that point and completely
ignore any listing with multiple prices.
But somewhere there will probably be a buyer who thinks all the bargains are in those listings and that is
all they use?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I phoned eBay a couple of years ago as a couple of items that i was selling were not on the site, the person in question told me they were showing up on her screen, and then blinded me with science why they weren’t showing up on mine.
TIPS

Sorry pressed send by mistake.
TIPS
1) Check your selling list, it will tell you how many views you are getting for every item, if 0 then you have a problem.
2) If you are selling in Auction, try to end the auction on Sunday evening as that is when most people are likely to be home.
List it on Thursday evening and press 10 days not 7 that way your Auction items will get 3 extra days.
3) Don’t waste money on boosting your product as the charges are about 8% added to the 12 or 13% they already charge.
4) Compare the items you are selling with other sale sites, bit pointless you selling something 40% below shop price if sale site is offering 50% off.
6) Just because you have something brand new with tags doesn’t mean it is going to sell, I sell more second hand stuff than new. There is stuff for sale on eBay that hasn’t sold for years, probably professional sellers
7) Take pictures of any flaws in the items you are selling and point them out in your description, otherwise you might have to refund the buyer
8) eBay seems to like auctions as if only 1 bid is made they are guaranteed their commission, have a look at similar items to the ones you are selling, this should give you an indication as the whether you should sell at Fixed Price or Auction
9) If you add a sub heading they will charge you a fee (£2.50 I think) If you add a ‘Reserve price’ they will also charge you a fee
10) If you have listed an Item as new it should only be listed on the new items for sale not used items for sale and vice versa
If I think of anything else I will post it after Ive checked my eBay stuff for sale0
