Glad to hear you are still plodding along ok. The rises are massive this year. Our council tax is up £10 a month! Water rates wanted an extra £323 year! So we are having a meter fitted which we hope will save us some money. No way am I giving the water board £800 a year. At least petrol is coming down again, which must help a bit.Making the debt go down and savings go up

@Makingabobor2 - Our annual council tax figure now starts with a 3, something I never imagined would happen. We halved our bill by switching to a water meter as they charge such a high premium for unmetered customers.I admire the fact that you have got seeds in already as I seem to faff about these days worrying whether it is the right time to start them. I used to be more gung-ho and bold, something which I need to recapture as they won’t grow in the packet.Such an important and relevant reminder about the CAB in current difficult times. The CAB is an amazing resource and the volunteers are so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. It is a shame that access doesn’t feel quite as easy as it was many years ago but thank goodness it still exists. I can remember that feeling of relief talking to someone who was not at all judgemental about my situation.4

Sunday is nearly over now and I managed to complete the tasks I'd set myself, this fine weather certainly helps although there is still a cold wind blowing up the hill!
After I was paid the other day I sat down and made a weekly menu that I multiplied by four (only main meals) and then went through my cupboards, freezers etc and then went shopping for the things I hadn't got in. It seems to be working at the moment, I've made 4x tom sauce for spag bol, 4x curries and 4x cottage pies, bought enough veggie sausage for 4x meals and I just have to make 8x veggie burgers tomorrow. I'm freezing/frozen three portions of each and eating the other, the other meals are risotto and a pasta bake! for the lunches I'll be having jacket potato, something on toast, hm soup or a bit of salad! I'm hoping by being more organised it might save me some pennies in the grocery budget.
The garden is really underway now but you can't really tell what's growing yet! and it does look a little odd with all the raised beds but I still have room for my swing (that's been in use today), bbq, sitting area and the dog can still have a run around, and the dgc have room to play as well.
I (or the wm really) washed one of my door curtains today and it so bright and clean now, so I'll be starting going round a room at a time curtain washing whist the weather is fine enough to dry them outside. So that's another week lived and survivedand ready to start it all again tomorrow!!! Have a good week everyone xxx
