My dad had dizzy spells/room spinning a while back. Nurse at GP surgery checked and said it was wax in his ears causing vertigo. He was given some tablets for a few days and told to use a oil spray thing for his ears. Could be worth getting checked outMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Thanks for all the advice on the dizziness, its still there but nothing like it was and isn't stopping me doing what I need to do. Oh I'm back to eating more now all the dizziness has gone, so perhaps that was partly the course as well.
I have been busy today, I have been into both freezers and sorted them out. The kitchen one is now my working one and the other one, which is a small chest will be a more long term one. more. I made proper lists and put them in my kitchen book and know what I have in and where. I also had a look in the pantry and made a new list of items to rebuy that I used during my no spend January.
I then made a pot full of bolognese sauce that will be frozen and put on the inventory and made a new batch of granola as I haven't had any for a few days. Its nice to get cooking for the freezer again, and this weekend I'll be making a couple of cakes and some 'twinks' for treats.
That's about it, I'm off to feed the pooch and get mine as well,

If you're having a planned-for meal on a day when you feel like eating it, I think that could count as a success, don't you?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi everyone I hope you're all fine.
I've been a bit busy since the last post. I did make just one cake and a pile of twinks. The cake was a banana and pecan loaf which was in a Bero book and although I haven't tried it before I have to say its very nice, with or without butter! I actually sliced it all up and put in the freezer and have been taking out a slice each day along with a couple of the frozen twinks so I don't eat them all in a couple of days.
I also had my youngest dgs to stay the night on Saturday which we both enjoyed and as he isn't a fussy eater we enjoyed veggie sausage, mash potato, broccoli and carrots along with onion gravy, we both cleared out platesand then for afters we had fresh fruit salad and hm lemon sorbet which again disappeared rather quickly!!
So Monday I took most of the day recovering, he's only just started school so has to be 'entertained' all waking hours, so there was plenty of games, dog walking, arty bits, baking etcbut I loved it!!!
So Monday (yesterday) I just made the cake and biscuits, it seems ages ago, and today I went to purchase my seed potatoes and have my free coffee at the garden centre and used some of my points to buy the potatoes, so no money spent!!! I have accumulated enough points to buy most of the plants I want instead of growing from seed just for a change. It was the first time since the refurb that I have been and it looks very nice and relaxing, I took a book and had a read for half an hour and them had a quick look around before leaving.
Tomorrow as its half term I'm looking after dgs for a few hours whilst dd works and then his dad takes over, so I think I will take him to the park or feed the ducks (as I have some bird seed they might like) that's if the weather is fine otherwise It'll be playing games at home for most of the time!! Neither of his sisters will be there. Oh and as the weather has been decent I've managed to line dry two loads of washing, I did think it would be too cold but it has been windy here so that probably helped and was nice change!
Well that's it for now, as I have to get up in the morning to get to dds for a decent time.

Hi everyone
Today I've only been out to walk the pooch and that was in between the rain showers, but at least he had a good run, it was nearly dark when we got back.
Earlier today I tried the bm and made a really nice looking loaf, I had bought new flour and yeast after my past bm failures/bricks and it worked, I was so pleased to have a decent loaf to eat again. So that has been sliced up and frozen as well.
And that's it for today, besides spending an hour this afternoon reading a book that I wanted to finish so I can start a new one that I have been wanting to read for a little time! It's been very quiet the last few days where I live, I think a few people must have gone on holiday.

Hi everyone
Life is just coasting along at the moment. I'm busy painting the front room and its going fine, but its taking time as I can't do as much as I could when youngerbut I'm pleased with how its going and at least I've started it - yay!!!
Other stuff happening is I've started the spring tidy up in the garden getting it ready for planting up and I will have to ask eldest dgd if she will do a bit of donkey work for me, carrying compost from the car and such like when I buy it! At long last there are plenty of bulbs starting to flower and it's looking really nice in different areas!!! I'm going to put markers in where the bulbs are so when I buy some more later in the year and I will know where to plant them
I have taken most of my signature down because there is no way I can save very much at the moment, I still put the money into my sinking pots as normal for my bills but I'm not left with very much after food petrol etc are accounted for, I will start again when I know what the all the increases are but I have a feeling its going to be pennies not pounds that I will save as bills and food seem to be going up on a weekly basis.I know I will be able to pay for everything and manage some how and at my age I don't expect much in the way of luxuries but I do fear for all the people who are going to suffer, as it seems quite a few families live from wage to wage without any backup and I can't see it changing anytime soon.
I've been sorting pots out ready for planting and acquiring some very big tubs to expand my growing and at last I planted some seeds - yay, only lettuce and radish but Its a start. And I'm after something to plant some fresh strawberry plants into this year as I want to use the strawberry bed for veggies this year, I suppose I could plant them amongst flowers in a border if I can't find anything suitable or I could to go to the lottie to pick up an old fashioned galvanised tub and see if I could use that as I don't think my dd will be using it this year and anyway I need to pick some hoops and netting up from there as well, its this bit of sunshine we have had, it makes me want to get in the garden more!!!
Anyway I'm off to bed , I didn't realise it was that late.
Nite nite, Nannygxx

The sunshine is much needed in order to provide a bit of motivation to get out into the garden at the moment! It has been so cold and so wet for a long time. I like your idea of putting markers as I can never remember, come bulb planting time, where I need to plant them. I have started with sorting out my greenhouse as it is warmer in there.Sometimes numbers can be a bit depressing and just practising all the sensible strategies can be the best thing. I agree that a great many people will be very seriously struggling in these difficult times.4

Would it be possible to make a 'strawberry tower' by putting a few inches of compost into a large pot, then putting a smaller pot on top of the compost, putting a few inches of compost into smaller pot and carrying on the same way. You could then put plants around the compost edges and a couple of plants in the top pot.
