Catty89 - the cat used to live in the Close but the owners moved, took cat with them but it kept returning, so one family adopted it but it seems to spend its daytime with me as they both work full time and I'm mostly in lol! Shh and give him treats! They have asked if I will look after it when the are away and I don't mind - it doesn't sleep indoors at night so that helps, well in the summer, I found out that's it's 15 years old so an old man!!
Today I haven't really done anything, in fact I've been proper lazy!! I've just pootled about and finished reading my library book, its been lovely. I spoke to dd as I have eldest dgd for the night tomorrow as I'm taking her for her first day at college, it's on my way to my other dd where I look after dgs for her and that's it.
So ....
Lunch - last of potato and courgette soup and bread.
Tea - rest of taco bean bake.
Both leftovers so no cooking yay

Today has been another quiet one, getting boring! I have dgd here tonight and its nice to have some company. Early start tomorrow to get her to college (first day) and then to dds to look after dgs for the day, hope I manage to get the timing right.
We went a walk tonight and it was really warm, makes a lovely change but needed a shower when i got in.
No spending out of food money but I did buy her a couple of bits she wanted for college out of my treat money, so that's all good. Having an earlier night as I was up at the crack of dawn today and I can't stop yawning!

Hi nannygladys…you aren’t boring at all! I often wonder what on earth I’m waffling about, you sound perfectly sane and interesting compared to mine 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Just read your diary nannygladys and love your attitude towards things. I wish I had an allotment (on the waiting list here but I've been on it for 8 years!) I don't think you've once been boring. Very enjoyable to read a few pages when sat down with a brew. I wish you luck in your continuing thrifty journey.

WinterWarrior - life is mostly boring I think, but it's not a bad thing, at least we're here surviving!
Toonie - when I moved here, shush don't tell anyone, over 40years ago, I was loved the Good Life comedy program and put my name on the waiting list, never did get contacted about one!! Which is funny as 2019 they were advertising for people as most of the plots were empty!!!! I have had mine about 5 years and this is my 6th growing year. I love it most of the time but I wish it was a little nearer when I've only got a couple of hours to spare, but I know I'm very lucky as there is quite a long waiting list at the moment and I only waited 2 months!(definitely not 8 years though)the turn over seems quite high, the younger new comers don't realise the amount of work and commitment needed to keep it going and many only have one for one year. Shame really.
Today has been a busy one, I managed to get the timings right and got to dds on time. Went a lovely long walk pushchair pushing and little one fell asleep, the weather has been gorgeous and I remembered to take drinks etc. Fetched his sister from school and picked up dgd back from college and then home after dropping dgc back to different parents, I love it but I'm glad I don't do it every day, l knew there was a reason why you have children when you're young and enthusiastic!!
No money spent, and no spend September is going ok. It's funny that I'm seeing more bits and pieces I would like but know I can't buy and it doesn't bother me, if I need it next month and its still there then perhaps it's fate and meant to be but, I don't think I will bother then either. Anyway off to bed

Alas competition here is really fierce for allotments. This year my partner made some raised beds for the garden out of some pallets he found dumped at the side of the road and this year we grew a few things. Unfortunately I didn't take into consideration the greedy wood pigeons who ate all of my kale! Or the cheeky squirrels who have chomped their way through some tomatoes (before the others all succumbed to blight). Next year we'll try to improve the animal deterrents. The things that have done very well are the herbs we planted and the salad so I'm pleased with that.

Toonie - growing anything is hit and miss I reckon. This year my tomatoes have been rubbish but most other things are fine. I have some winter cabbage, chard, kale and winter beetroot to go in but it's been too hot today, as I went down there this morning.
I'm loving this warm weather although I could just nod off at the moment! Been a quiet day so far, just having a sit down before I go and get my dry washing in and have a look to see if I have enough shed paint to slash on my gate.

Laundry done this morning as rain was forecast for this afternoon, and they were right!!!! But at least it all dried. Did a little shop and spent £3.55, so that was ok and this morning I made a few jars of damson jam,so put it in the cupboard for winter stores.
This afternoon I went to the allotment to start cutting the hedge back, what a job that's going to be, little and often I reckon. A couple of fellow lottie people (well men) have said they will come and help but I want to show willing!! It started raining whilst I was down there so stayed until I was getting soaked and came home via the tip.
And that's about it, the eldest dgd came up this morning for a while and she's coming up tomorrow for a bit as well, she starts college properly next week, but is only going in for three days!!! I think she may be doing a bit more volunteering by the sounds of it.
Anyway I'll go and make my tea, I may even make a bread and butter pudding for tomorrow as I was given some bread rolls that are out of date and I haven't had any for years.
