Wireless speaker(s)

Thanks all. Yes I’m looking for a device that will pair and function as a multi room device. Looks like Sonos may be best bet but a bit less battery life than I’d have liked.0

I have had a multi room system for over 20 years. The number of times other people want to listen to my choice of music is tiny. Maybe christmas music and the odd party. Maybe people that live alone would want to do it. I just think it's one of those things that people think would be useful but once you get it don't use it that much.0

Does it need to be Alexa?
We have Google set up and use 2 Sonos speakers and a JBL Link Portable speaker that we can take outside.
You can set up speaker groups so they will all play the same thing.

It’s a purchase for a party. I’ve already got a number of Alexa / echo devices in the house and just looking to extend that outside for the party. However other option is to just get wireless speaker for the garden but I would really have liked to have a number of devices all playing same. And also have had the ability to play Amazon music playlist. But it doesn’t seem as simple as I hoped!0

We have a neighbour who has just got themselve a new toy of an outside speaker - the problem is that he lives over the road, has appalling taste in noise (I hesitate to call it music) but he expects the rest of us to put up with it. Most of the afternoon and evening
IMO it's fine if you've got one but please, please consider that some of the rest uf us, dont actually want to listen to some of the trash that gets played.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -

For a one off outdoor I think I would get more of what you have and hope the weather is good or wrap in a plastic bag
if you can get(have?) some power outside even better.
Not after spending huge amounts - £200 max would be ideal.
unless you have other uses in mind for a speaker spend less and buy more beer.

Yeah unfortunately it needs to be wireless as I can’t stretch a cable long enough for power without it being a trip hazard.0
