Made the extra OP of £100.
A new deal on broadband has saved us £8 a month (added to monthly DD house and home savings) and have reduced our electricity DD by £35 a month from next month as we're in credit - have added this to Mortgage DD plus £15 to round us up.
This means from next month we will be paying £1200 a month, £200 interest and the rest off the total. If we just do this the mortgage will be done in 3y 9 months 🎉

Quick check in before work. New revised OP of £736.62 has gone in. It's going to be a tighter month as a smaller pay packet from both my old job and final SE income, next month's pay will have an extra week in it plus a small back pay from my second job.
    Have a good September all!

    Hi all,
OP of £736.62 paid yesterday. Got my new pay but suspect I have been taxed wrong as it's about a third less than it should be (and includes an extra week)! Will have to sort once home.
Just coming to the end of our time in Canada.

    Hi all,
Not a lot to report this month, have just submitted my MFiT-T7 update form, mortgage is down £10k from where we started in January.
Made an extra £100 OP today.
Have a few financial jobs pending - need to organise a new mortgage, find a better paying savings account for money shuffling during the month and submit my SA for 24/25.
New job going well, and have sorted out my pension contributions.

    Happy November!
    OP of £736.62 paid in.
Our new mortgage is sorted, a 2 year fix which doesn't have quite the capacity for OPs as our current one but we'll max them out for the 2 years and build up a lump sum to throw at it once the fixed rate ends at the end of 2027. This also gives us a bit of breathing space to pay for Japan. The new savings account is all set up and in use.

SA to do, plus a conversation with HMRC and a new PIP application for youngest are all my money to dos for this week.

    Morning all,

New job is pretty time consuming but am really enjoying it and feel like I'm adjusting back into full time work ok!
Plan is to get some hours in this morning so I can do some shorter days next week.

Have bashed the holiday fund as flights to Japan now paid for - not quite as spendy as we though as we had unexpected refunds from the Canada flight delays which was a very nice surprise, we thought the delay was due to weather so weren't expecting anything other than the £30 airport spends.

New mortgage going through ok and should start in Jan. 4.15%instead of the 5.25 we're currently on.
PIP application all done and I am planning to work on SA today. Money shuffling for the month completed. Need to start thinking about Christmas!

    Happy Sunday!

    Happy New Year everyone,

First OP of the year made £736.62 as our standard DD has gone out on the old mortgage - not sure how it'll all pan out as new mortgage due to be sorted v soon. Am tempted to pay an extra £500 off to get to a figure starting with 3 before the new deal goes through but need to look at spreadsheets and assess!

A quiet Christmas and New Year for us, and not too spendy. As in previous year's DH had saved his vouchers from work to pay for Christmas and NYE food from M and S - feels like a very speedy treat but no actual cost to us.

Self Assessment all done - around £1300 to pay, on my to do list to see if I can set up to pay through tax code or need to do a lump sum, after last year's shock I have been adding more to savings knowing there would be additional student loan payments would bump up the tax bill!

Planning to do a little work today and bank a few hours as I need to take them off next Friday.

Hope everyone has a good start to the Year.

Added an extra OP of £500. The redemption statement has been requested by the new mortgage company but it hasn't been responded to yet.
We are due to get £500 cashback on completion so happy to use short term savings pot to make the OP before we are tied to 10% of repayments.
