May OP of £534.56 made. It's been a very spendy few months in the Smetf household, some fun stuff (hols and entertainment), some not so fun (private assessments as CAMHS wait was just too long) but settling into some equilibrium now I hope. Final big spend is due today - v old and high mileage car in for service and MOT. If it's under £500 we'll be delighted!
All being well should be able to have a rejig of finances by the end of this month.

Woohoo, £235 for car MOT and service. With over 170k on the clock it looks like we should get another year out of it. Rear tyres due to be replaced soon but that can be done next month.

A little extra OP today of £25, thanks to a couple of hours on surveys this week.
Fixed rate saver matures in a few days so contemplating splitting into 1/3 OP and 2/3 medium term savings ready for paying for heat pump installation in a few months.

Can't decide whether to do the saver again or put into S&S ISA...
Possible big holiday next year will be before the saver matures so don't want to tie up savings.

    Happy Bank Holiday all!
I'm taking it super easy after lots of running so just up from a nap.
Done a bit of money moving around after the FD saver has matured so a nice chunk of £1335 OP has gone in taking May's OPs to 1894.56.
The rest has been moved to other savings pots for a couple of months until we need it to pay for the heat pump installation.
Made a couple of payments towards holiday accommodation for Sept as we could use a voucher from my partner's work towards it. Only £530 left to pay and then spending money.

Off to update sig and 2024 MF Wannabes plus catch up with others diaries.

June OP of £534.56 gone in today.
I'm hoping to have paid the max 10% by end of September, giving us 3 months to start building an OP pot for 2025.
Surveys going well so that should boost funds a little. No major spends coming up till September either.
    NSD today.

Various surveys all coming in to Paypal so a £40 payment made today.
Am laughing at my previous post as we appear to be in the middle of a very spendy time! Have made the decision to get gas supply removed as heat pump is installed so need to have an electric hob installed prior to that happening, plus an unexpected trip to Canada upcoming after our family holiday! Plus my friend who made my last raised bed and is going to do some minor building works for us too has got some availability so that'll be pricey!

Monthly interest on mortgage is £266.68
Looking forward to getting that down a bit!

    Note to self:
multiply outstanding balance by annual interest rate, then divide by 12

Squeaked an additional OP of £70 on top of the regular OP of £534.56 taking July to a good start of £604.56
A couple of good Pr*lific surveys and some cashback from a mobile sim referral all helps! Plus (with a little rounding) it has nudged us into a mortgage beginning with 5 🎉which feels very positive!

Morning all and happy Yorkshire Day!
Monthly OP of £534.56 going out today and we're getting close to paying the max OP for the year.
Rare full day off today and a run is on the cards (likely to be soggy) and then taking the parents out for pizza and wine later - saying thank you for passing on their old car to us!

Hi all, hope everyone having a good weekend?
We had a nice start with a longish run and then treats of coffees and pastries. £17 spent so not cheap but a v lovely start to the day.
Second load of washing on the line and got the kitchen put back together after sanding and oiling our worktops yesterday - the gas hob was easily replaced with an induction hob but there were distinct lines where it was slightly smaller to the sides. It was due doing anyway and has only cost is the price of the sanding discs as we borrowed it via a friend.
Also pottered out the front and cleaned up after all the work that has been going on. Decluttered some stuff to our local Freecycle event too (everyone puts unwanted things outside their houses).
All in all a good few days.
