I don't think so.
Acceptable? No ... after a house a car purchase is the most expensive purchase you'll likely make. Why would anyone be so blasé about that unless £1000 was loose change to them?
So yes I would know what I'm doing but would I read the entire Ts&Cs? no - because I know the regulations trump whatever they say.
Thankfully it has all worked out for them.Jenni x0 -
You're quite lucky with October.Lad I work with ordered his new Focus a couple of months ago, nothing special but had to be built. He was given the usual lead time, only to be told a week later, err sorry, it'll be next March/April.0

Who waits that long for a Focus....?
People are lazy though, they don't put in the work to really source the car they want.
Example is friends who've been told an electric Skoda enyaq can 'only be ordered online' and will 'take months'
Go on line and I found three sitting in dealers with deliver mileage, ready to go (and one at less than RRP).
In your mate's case, you can't tell me a "nothing special" Focus isn't sitting somewhere waiting to be sold to him.0 -

Not sure what he's doing, we get a discount and special deals through the Ford privilege scheme and they had nothing from stock that was suitable.

Just ask for your deposit back, if they refuse ask them on what grounds and go from there.
