Is is that unbelievable that some people just trust the dealers, put down a deposit and wait for info without going through T+Cs with a fine toothcomb?Jenni_D said:You've given the selling dealer £1000 without having ANY information about what you've given them that money for? Really?
I don't think so.0 -
Unbelievable? No - just a read of these forums is enough to show that people can be foolish.BOWFER said:

Acceptable? No ... after a house a car purchase is the most expensive purchase you'll likely make. Why would anyone be so blasé about that unless £1000 was loose change to them?Jenni x0 -

Just for balance it might be that someone buying with a credit card from a reputable company is relatively happy to do so without pouring over the Ts&Cs.Jenni_D said:

I recently bought a mobility scooter on-line and I'm confident I'm covered by regulations that protect distance selling as well as my credit card.
My dad who's vulnerable refuses to go to the store to try it, so if it turns out to be unsuitable then I'm confident we are covered to send it back and will get a full refund if it's in perfect condition with original packaging.
I did check out the company but I didn't pour over their entire Ts & Cs because I could easily see their returns policy complies with the regulations which give us 14 days after delivery to send it back.
So yes I would know what I'm doing but would I read the entire Ts&Cs? no - because I know the regulations trump whatever they say.0 -
Any main dealer will have T&Cs that allow you to cancel with full return of the deposit under such conditions.0

The car was a Jaguar. There is a long delay because of a shortage of semi conductors.
I managed to finally get through to the dealer who has cancelled the order and refunded my deposit.1
