Hi please put me, hubs and the three dogs down for £250 to include all food cleaning items, toiletries etc. I have no idea how much I spend on food and have a chest freezer to work through so hopefully will come under budget. Will be interesting. We are eating healthily too so no processed foods allowed in our diet right now5

Hi all and thanks @elsiepac for running the thread. Could you put me down for £350 again.
Will do a freezer and store cupboard inventory and meal plan for the month in order to use up some bits that have been languishing for a while. Kids will need some packed lunches for holiday club and picnic foods for days out so will use up the jelly etc.Grocery Challenge 2024

Elsiepac: sorry I have had to rethink all my budgets to cut down so I have a new figure of £60 for the next four weeks , starting today.
I will be using the store cupboard and freezer for quite a lot of my main meals so it should be doable.
So today is the first day and I haven't spent anything, that's a good start for me!!
Spent £0/60

Looking forward to this. Going to start meal planning too, as I feel like this is something I always want to do and then never get around to.

Hi, I'd like to join in too please.
We've got overfull freezers, fridge and cupboards, the veg plot is overflowing, and the cats are well stocked with their food too so we've budgeted £15p/w for food/household for the month for 2 adults, an 8 year old, and 2.5cats (the 0.5 is semi-feral so appears as and when he chooses, never daily) We should only really need some extra fruit and milk this month based on how much we have stocked in and growing.
My aim the next 3 months is to empty down the current stores as my husband has started joking he's entering me into Hoarders if I don't, especially since it is canning and preserving time again!
I really need to get meal-planning and sticking to it this month too. Biggest downfall here is forgetting to pull meat out of the freezer so I have bought a fridge notepad with reminders on it to help with this.
