Microsoft GRRRRRR

Options
Hi all

Just wondered if anyone can help, my son has an xbox 360 which has a problem reading some discs, says to ensure that he has inserted a legal copy of game etc.....

Anyway Microsoft have agreed to take it in for repair, and a known problem, they are meant to be sending me a label to stick on the box then i need to call UPS to arrange pick up...

Well 4 phone calls, and 4 weeks still no label and I am getting a little fed up with this now as son can't use his x box and each time I ring they say they will send me a new label, could still be doing this, this time next year.

Anyone have name/number of anybody senior where I might get some joy?

Many thanks in advance

  • Hi,

When my xbox went on the blink, they sent me the label via email. Are you registered with them through xbox live and they have sent it to that? It only took a few minutes for mine to come through....

Other than that, from experience, and you may or may not already know this.
Ideally, do not send it in its original box and do not send anything else with it unless specifically asked (i.e. no Hard Drive, PSU etc) as it is very likely you will not get them back

    Regards

    Craig

  • who did you buy it from - maybe try them as you are protected under the sale of goods act, but that contract is purely between you and who sold it to you. Go to them and ask for a replacement/repair.
  • If you give them a call again, it might be worth trying to see if they can send it to you via email...

I must admit, I had a few problems with them, but in the main they were fairly helpful. Although at times they seemed *too* helpful with all of the customer service spiel they were giving me...

what, less games etc at a greater price - sounds good to me... There's a reason you're called dipsy isn't there?

Let me guess, your a MS fanboy!!? PS3 is the better console in both price, hardware and build quality:
    1. Firstly, when you factor in that the PS3 has a built in Blu Ray drive they cost about the same price.
    2. The PS3 is a more advanced machine in terms of the hardware i.e. processor, graphics card etc. FACT
    3. The PS3 failure rate is less than 1% compared the the 360 = 43% (case in point OP).
    4. The PS3 has free wireless online play, you have to pay £50 for the apdapter and £30 per year membership on the 360.
    5. The xbox hard drive, whilst bigger, has no room for expansion. The PS3 hard drive can be swapped out very easily with any 2.5" laptop drive (300gb costs about £60).
    6. The only thing the 360 has going for it at the minute is a larger selection of games simply because its been out for a year longer. This time next year the PS3 will have as good, if not better, selection of games.
Oh, and buy the way, I've had an Xbox 360 and the sold it when I got my PS3. The PS3 blew the xbox out of the water!
  • We had to send ours back a couple of weeks ago to be repaired, the label was sent to us via Email the day after we asked for it, we've never had any problems returning them to be fixed.

Could it be you have given them the wrong Email address or maybe they have written it down wrongly?
