Actually, I am very cautious and used to brake all the time at the amber light, unless it's clear I won't stop on the line. But very recently, a friend of mine saw my driving and advised me to try to pass amber lights whenever possible, because most drivers do so and if I stop, the other drivers behind my car might not expect it and they might brake too late and cause a crash. Then I became too subconscious and started to overthink finding the new threshold.

Your friend is wrong.  Ask an instructor, not someone who will; advise you what they do, not what they ought to do.  You shouldn't be aiming to go through on an amber.  You should only go through an amber if it is unavoidable.  If you are doing proper observations, then it shouldn't creep up on you, and those behind you should notice your speed gradually drop if you are lifting your foot from the accelerator if you have observed that the green light has been on a while for example.

You need to work on anticipation.  Anticipation will mean you will rarely have to make an instant decision.
