Secured a property, but I’m not happy with it!

As the title says, finally managed to get a property. However, it is far from what I wanted, & hoped for. I was pushed into buying it by outside influences. I’m tempted to withdraw but don’t want to be seen as a time waster.
Has anyone else felt like this?

Better people judge you than you end up with an expensive noose!10

Being a bit nervous about buying is normal and not everyone can get exactly what they want.
However it seems like you shouldn't buy this house. It's a six figure purchase. Don't go ahead based on what other people think is right. It's gonna be your home. It needs to work for you. Don't worry about being seen as a time waster, there's too much money involved to buy something that isn't right.3 -
Exact thoughts, which is what I’m running away from at the moment! Feels like deja vu!Keswick1uk said:Better people judge you than you end up with an expensive noose!0 -
Part of it, I like. It’s the other 1/2 I’m struggling to like, & already I’m told “do this, do that, to get that”. What is the point? I know with any house, it’ll need tweaking to suit but it just seems ridiculous!MaryNB said:Being a bit nervous about buying is normal and not everyone can get exactly what they want.

It won't be worth it if you're moving in 18 months to 2 years. With solicitor fees for buying and selling, EA fees, surveyor fees, mortgage valuation fees and SDLT, you'd probably be better off renting until something suitable comes alongRoseGold2021 said:

Why is it??
See the one I've bought I felt the same....now it's drawing closer I don't, Im looking at all the potential and actually really excited to get started. If it's cosmetic issues surely you can make it work??1 -
Pull out then. You decide what you want0

I think part my problem, i viewed a house at the weekend, & I fell in love with it. Although I put in the biggest offer, (not a stupid amount, few £ over asking price), vendors didn’t want my money, & instead went for someone else, who submitted asking price!. Gutted is an understatement. I saw so much potential with it, & could see myself in it for a number of years. Whereas this house, I don’t see myself in it for long. Cosmetically, there’s not much that needs doing, it’s just changing things around to suit.jazzyja said:Why is it??

I could stay with family however it wouldn’t be for a long period of time. As for renting, there aren’t any suitable places in my home town. As they come on, they go! It’s nuts at the moment!MaryNB said:

I really wasn't sure about the last house I bought but just went through with it because I was in a desperate situation. I hated the place, hated living there and the neighbours were absolutely awful. However, I was stuck there as I couldn't afford to up and sell and move out so soon after moving in. I had estate agents round giving me valuations a week after I'd moved in but couldn't actually afford to sell up and move out for another 8 years. It was hell. I was forever phoning the police because the neighbours were so anti-social. Since I've moved to my current home I haven't needed to phone the police once. Neighbours are fabulous! But actually, they're just normal people, it was my old neighbours who just weren't quite right.RoseGold2021 said:

I'd always say go with your gut because you'll end up miserable.
