Isnt pension credit only applicable for pensioners ?
Yes. What Alice meant was that if you do not get the full State Pension you may be entitled to Pension Credit to top up your income as a pensioner, depending on your circumstances.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Who, in their right mind, would recognise the above but then refuse to engage with the process required to get the credits for free.
I am engaging with the process!

    I was going by this
But - I will not be engaging with a work coach -

Yes - before I realised the rules and that I would not be expected to do "anything" as long as I was covered by fit notes
I have a 3 month fit note - already which helps

What is the calculation for amount of ESA payable - for someone on a private pension paying out approximately £12k pa?
I understand that there is a standard deduction rate - but what is it?
And am. I correct in believing that savings are not taken into account?
None of the online benefit calculators can handle new style ESA

The deductions for pension income were explained to you in a previous thread.
"If you get an occupational or personal pension that pays more than £85 a week, your new style ESA will be reduced by half of the amount over this limit."

For nsESA savings are not taken into account
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.

So if my pension pays me £220 per week - my ESA will be reduced by (220-85)/2 =£67.50
Leaving £6 per week or £46 support group
    Am I correct?

That's correct, if it is £220 per week.
That means that even if you had qualified for payment of ESA you would have only been paid £7.20 per week while in the assessment phase. If placed in the Support Group this would rise to £46.20 per week.

    Plus more importantly NI credits
    That's not an insignificant sum
