My wife has received a similar letter dated 25th June 2021 stating a payment will be made in 10 working days but she has not received any further communications from Santander that this is false or would be removed. 10 working days and payment to here account (which is correctly detailed on the letter). Now at a panic that these monies will not be paid and Santander have done nothing to reassure or confirm to customers. It is only through looking online that i saw this post and am now panicking as thought it would all go through by Friday. nothing in the news either?0

From what I was told on the phone when I contacted them, I don't think you will get any refund by Friday. They are issuing new letters in 7-10 days and these should correct whatever error was made. Apparently, they may have additional information at the end of the week regarding the issue.0

I just feel Santander should have prepared their staff better when talking to customers. To receive a letter to say refund due and then tell us there's an error but you'll have to wait for the explanation, is poor for a big bank like that. The guy I spoke to sounded genuinely uninformed and a bit harassed.Treat others how you would like to be treated. 🤞0

I think it’s disgusting attitude by the bank if true - at least tell all customers, not just wait and see who queries - we’re not the experts in these matters and they need to be better0

Not Santander's finest hour undoubtedly, but not really something to panic about! The figure quoted by Santander on our letter is not small either and would make a massive difference.

It may not be small and, if you have money problems, there is nothing worse than being told you are going to receive money to then be told there is an error and not be informed what that error is. The letter could have been a lifeline to some . I know what that is like, having been there.
