Item Tracked as Delivered but never arrived.

I never said I couldn't contact them at the weekend, but as they're closed I won't get a reply from them til Monday. When they asked me to check with my Neighbours I had to wait til the end of the week to get home to do that then ping off a reply and wait til Monday at which point I'll be back on site. So let's say the item actually went to my local post office and they ask me to check there I won't be able to until the weekend.Pollycat said:Elsien was referring to the retailer. That was who we were discussing when I asked you what they'd said when you told them the neighbours hadn't taken your parcel in.And you replied that they are closed at the weekend.Who is this retailer who doesn't open at the weekend and doesn't have any means of contacting them when they are closed?

Although that’s the official case, I take in a lot of parcels for neighbours in my complex regularly and I’m never asked my name, I suppose they might record my address and number but never name.Pollycat said:molerat said:Pollycat said:You need to find out from Royal Mail who has signed for it (although RM aren't getting signatures, the delivery person should record the name of the person who accepts the parcel).I don't know if RM will speak to you as it is the sender who has the contract with them or if you will have to get the sender to chase it up.Have you spoken to the sender?Which 99.9999999% of the time will be the addressee whether or not that was the person who actually took delivery.I have just checked a package I received the other day, not signed for though, and the GPS location is pretty clear although closer to the neighbour than me.From Royal Mail website:What can I do if my item is shown as delivered, but it hasn’t been received?
If you’re the recipient:
- Check whether the item was sent using a service that obtains a
signature on delivery*. If it was, do you recognise the name of the
person who accepted the item? The name will be provided by the person
who accepted the delivery and not always the person on the address
label.
*We usually ask customers to sign for deliveries on a digital screen. However, due to the current coronavirus situation, in order to protect both our people and customers as much as possible, we will not be handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture signatures. Postmen and women will instead log the name of the person accepting the item and sign on their behalf.
There would be nothing stopping anyone giving a false name or made up name too on the spot.1 - Check whether the item was sent using a service that obtains a

To answer the question in your original post - yes you are entitled to your money back if it does not arrive. It is the retailer's responsibility to get it delivered to you.
Obviously you will 'help' by asking neighbours, looking in your dustbin, asking the local PO etc, but in the end if it doesn't arrive then ask for a refund. If they refuse (no doubt by referring to tracking etc) then ask your card provider for a chargeback.
If this fails then the small claims court and the judge will decide if you are lying or not!1
