Should I install Mozilla ?

There is an old saying, "don't try to fix it if it aint broke".

I use In/Ex 7 (recently upgraded from 6), it's ok, apart from the fact that when I want to trawl through my favourites, the box keeps shooting away and I have to bring it back. Apart from that, I've lost several of my live streaming webcams of late, possibly due to clicking where I shouldn't. It has been suggested to me that I'd be better off with mozilla and I've been googling/reading and wondering.

Were I to make the change, would I notice much difference?, what would i NOT be able to do, that I can now?, would In/Ex be gone for good ?, would I be able to restore it?

Get Firefox, you wont look back, I use both, but overall prefer Firefox as a browser.

Installing Firefox won't remove IE7. You can switch between them at will, personally I prefer Firefox. Another alternative you may consider is Opera. At the moment I have all three installed on my PC.

  • I have Opera, Firefox and IE on my PC... i love FF mostly with it's ability to remove adverts from websites before i see them and it has stopped me getting any form of spyware.

IE won't be gone, but you won't want to use it anymore

So, if I were to start the download of FF, presumbly you would wish to advise me if I should clic on anything enroute?.

Once installed, how would I know it was or where it was?,

would it have asked if I wanted it to be my default browser?

and if yes, it would take over?,

    so where would In/Ex be?,

I'm assuming on the desk top where I would right click and open?

You've wetted my appetite as has google/web user information.

Just try it and as others have said you won't want to go back to IE.

Firfox and IE will be in your normal list of prgrams, click start, all programs and both will be there. You will also probably have icons on your desktop for them unless you specifically said no during the install. They'll probably be in the quick launch area as well.

From memory when you first run Firefox it will ask you if you want it to be the default browser. There is also an option to import your favourites from IE7.
