We had no idea that talc often contains asbestos, but it appears the reason for the lawsuits success is the fact that not only did J&J know that their talc contained it, and that it was harmful since at least the 1950s, but they wrote it down so that the documents could be produced in court.

They are trying to go bankrupt rather than pay out, rather like Takata tried with the exploding airbags, but they can't.

(Stupid me wonders how they can't, if all the money has gone then they are effectively bankrupt......)

Rubber gloves (and babies now) are dried & lubricated with cornstarch (unless they come from a very dodgy supplier)

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

How about vapes? Lungfuls of antifreeze all the time can't be good for your health

I read that theyre is no control of Vapes and there is concern that they are actually more dangerous than cigarettes

  • I normally wouldn’t be one to jump on any legal bandwagon; however, when our 4 year lease was up, we were told that equity in the car would be put forward to the next new one. Our equity in 2019 when we went to change the car was… “negative £1500”. Furious.

Whoever bought our old diesel Audi changed the reg plates, so these lawyers aren’t interested, despite us actually being significantly affected by the diesel scandal.

Has anyone else managed to join a claim when plates have been changed?

The VW group have already settled their claims so you would likely have to take them to court yourself - I suspect that will be the reason no one is interested.
  • So I signed up with LGPW law via Clean Air Claims over 3 years ago. [Now on trust pilot at 2 1 but they weren't listed on it when I signed up. And i dint know about this site]

I have a 2018 VW diesel. And I did buy it based on mileage and performance ratings. I have 2 friends who went with different firms but same car and claim. They got paid out 6 months ago over £3000. Google states the average payout for my car is £2100. However Clean air claims is only offering me £750. When I asked why thier payout is so low in comparison they said its confidential and part of the agreement is they cant say. I also read that they have increase their cut from 30% of the payout to 50% sometime in 2022. Not something I was aware of or agreed too.

My question is can I reject their offer and go with a different firm? Are firms still accepting this claim? Where do I stand legally? Do I have too suck it up and accept this payout?

I thought VW vehicles were exempt from further claims as they'd already reached a settlement?

  • As Jenni says VW have settled all claims so you will have to settle for whatever has been offered. If the firm you are dealing with has changed the basis of their settlement you can ask them to explain on what grounds they have done that but can't change the company.
  • The complaints site Resolver emailed me asking to check and it took me to
